Mrs. Lena "Preacher" Waits

Mrs. Lena Mae Cole Waits, affectionately known as “Preacher” age 63 of Dallas, Georgia passed away on January 28, 2012 at her residence.

 

 

 

Mrs. Lena Waits was born on October 1, 1948 in Alpharetta, GA to loving parents Mr. Barney William Cole and Mrs. Dorothy Maybelle Garner Cole.

 

 

 

Mrs. Waits was affiliated with Bethany Christian Church and had been attending McPherson Baptist Church. She was a seamstress for Omni Apparel. She enjoyed hunting, fishing, and gardening.

 

 

 

Mrs. Lena Waits is survived by one daughter Mr. & Mrs. Phillip (Lynn) Gore; one son Mr. & Mrs. David (Terri) Waits; eight grandchildren Mark Waits, Shea Waits, Ethan Waits, Todd Gurley, Jessica Gore, Dustin Gore, Kayla Fennell, and Jessica Mathis; one great grandchild Bryson Adair all of Dallas, GA; mother Mr. & Mrs. Tom (Dorothy “Dot”) Pierce of Florida, two brothers Mr. & Mrs. Harold (Carolyn) Cole of Adairsville, GA and Mr. & Mrs. Doug (Margie) Cole of Florida; nieces and nephews as well as many other beloved family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Mr. Ralph Franklin Waits who passed away February 24, 2009; and her father Mr. Barney William Cole who passed away June 1, 2001.

 

 

 

Funeral Services for Mrs. Lena Waits will be held in the Chapel of Jeff Eberhart Funeral Home on Tuesday, January 31, 2012 at 2 pm with the Reverend Jerry Miller and Reverend Butch Cole officiating. Music will be provided by Perry Cordell. Serving as pallbearers will be Ethan Waits, Mark Waits, Dustin Gore, Todd Gurley, Kevin Waits, Buddy Gore, and James Gore. Interment will follow at New Hope Memory Gardens.

 

 

 

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday, January 30, 2012 from 3 – 9 pm and Tuesday, January 31, 2012 from 9 am until the time of service.
