Mrs. Thelma Mae Tidwell Rakestraw, age 82 of Dallas, GA passed away on January 13, 2012 at her residence.

 

 

 

Mrs. Thelma Rakestraw was born in Aragon, GA on December 23, 1929 to loving parents the late Reverend Tommy Tidwell and Mrs. Willie Mae Glass Tidwell. She is also preceded in death by her beloved husband Mr. Bennie Rakestraw who passed away June 11, 1990; two sons Mr. Clinton Joel Rakestraw and Mr. William Bennie Rakestraw.

 

 

 

Mrs. Thelma Rakestraw is survived by three daughters Mr. & Mrs. James (Brenda) Snow of Powder Springs, GA, Ms. Tammy Wheeling of Dallas, GA, and Mr. & Mrs. Tim (Lisa) Trainer of Hiram, GA; ten grandchildren Jamie Wheeling of Dallas, GA, T.C. Trainer, Rachael Trainer both of Hiram, GA, Barbie Forrister of Temple, GA, Lois Homier of Dallas, GA, Terry Snow of Hiram, GA, Tim Snow of Powder Springs, GA, Tina Agan, Bobby Rakestraw of Dallas, GA, and Angie Brock of Villa Rica, GA; several great grandchildren, sisters and brothers Mr. & Mrs. Hershel (Bessie) Smith, Mrs. Melva Roper , Reverend and Mrs. James (Betty) Tidwell all of Dallas, GA, and Mr. Forrest Tidwell of Jasper, GA; nieces, nephews as well as other beloved family members and friends. Mrs. Rakestraw was loved by many and will be missed by all who knew her.

 

 

 

Funeral Services for Mrs. Rakestraw will be held in the Chapel of Jeff Eberhart Funeral Home on Sunday, January 15, 2012 at 3 pm with the Reverend G.R. Graves, Reverend Max Padgett and Reverend Wendall Rakestraw officiating. Music will be provided by Joe Maxwell, Paula Roper, and Jeff Eberhart. Serving as pallbearers will be Jamie Wheeling, T.C. Trainer, Tim Smith, Tommy Roper, Wayne Tidwell, and Jimmy Tidwell. Interment will follow at Paulding Memorial Gardens.

 

 

 

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday, January 14, 2012 from 3 – 9 pm, and Sunday, January 15, 2012 from 9 am until the time of service.
