Fermon Odell Southerland, age 75, of Dallas, GA, passed away Monday, December 19, 2011. He was born May 4, 1936, in Cleburne, AL, to the late Albert & Addie Southerland. Mr. Southerland was a U. S. Army veteran and was retired from the U. S. Postal Service, after 30 years. He was a member of McPherson Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Juanita Southerland; sons & daughters-in-law, Kerry & Janice Southerland of Hiram, Timmy & Bonita Southerland of Dallas, Todd Southerland of Dallas and Chad & Tara Southerland of Bremen; daughter & son-in-law, Michelle & Thomas Cantrell; brothers & sisters-in-law, Junior & Brenda Southerland of Florida and Eugene & Jerri Southerland of Alabama; sisters & brothers-in-law, Evelyn & Douglas Hewett of Dallas; Mildred Parson of Hiram, and Betty Mae & Howard Clark of Douglasville; twelve grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, December 21, 2011, at 2:00 PM, from Clark Funeral Home, with Pastor Jeff Clark and Pastor Steve Clayton officiating. Interment will follow in Peaceful Meadows Memorial Cemetery. Dwayne Hewett, Mike Hewett, Ken Southerland, Kirby Southerland, Ricky Parson and John Southerland will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, December 20, 2011, from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
