Mr. James Douglas Eidson, age 72 of Dallas, GA passed away on Sunday, December 4, 2011 at WellStar Paulding Hospital.

 

Mr. James Douglas Eidson was born in Dallas, Georgia on October 26, 1939 to loving parents the late Rev. Homer Eidson and Mrs. Leila Sosebee Eidson. He is also preceded in death by his sisters, Perry Lee Crew, Izetta Landers and brother Curtis Eidson.

 

Mr. Eidson was employed as a supervisor with International Harvest. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and racing.

 

Mr. Eidson is survived by his loving family, Mrs. Lynn Eidson of Dallas, GA. Michelle Hall of Dallas, GA. Vicky (Tommy) Bagby of Dallas, GA. Cody Hall, Summer Hall, Kyle Bagby all of Dallas, GA. W.L. (Lois) Eidson of Powder Springs, GA. Artis (Nell) Eidson of Mableton, GA. Lettie Thackston of Hiram, GA. Faye (Bobby) Rakestraw of Hiram, GA. Shirley (Ralph) Thurmond of Atlanta, GA. Many nieces and nephews, as well as other beloved family members and friends.

 

Funeral Services for Mr. James Douglas Eidson will be held in the Chapel of Jeff Eberhart Funeral Home on Thursday, December 8, 2011 at 11 am with Reverend Pete Hickson officiating. Music will be provided by Jeff Eberhart and Becky Bearden. Serving as pall bearers will be Kyle Bagby, Cody Hall, Jeff Benson, Curt Eidson, Roger Dodd and Reggie Thackston. Honorary pall bearers will include Delane Williams, Donald Crew, Art Eidson, Derek Eidson, Steve Rakestraw, Keith Rakestraw, Alan Thurmond, Scott Thurmond and Stuart Thurmond.. Interment will follow at Dallas Memory Gardens.

 

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, December 7, 2011 from 4 – 8 pm and Thursday, December 8, 2011 from 9 am until the time of service.

 

The family requests that family and friends make a blood donation to the American Red Cross in honor of Douglas Eidson.
