Mr. Vernon "Speedy" Seals age 85 of Dallas, Georgia passed away on Saturday, November 26, 2011 at Wellstar Paulding Hospital.

 

Mr. Vernon "Speedy" Seals was born on October 26, 1926 to loving parents the late Mr. John Tom Seals and Mrs. Ovellie Buford Seals. Mr. Seals was a veteran of the United States Army. He worked as a material cutter at Simmons Mattress Company for many years. In his spare time, he enjoyed raking leaves. In addition, Mr. Seals loved sports. In particular he was known for his baseball and softball abilities. He was once property of the Boston Red Sox after he was drafted by the Red Sox in 1947.

 

Mr. Vernon "Speedy" Seals is survived by his daughter Mr. & Mrs. Randy and Teresa Tibbitts of Dallas, Georgia; 1 son, Mr.& Mrs. Stan and Rhonda Seals of Dallas, Georgia; 1 sister, Reba Aiken of Dallas, Georgia; 4 grandchildren, Terri Tibbitts Miller, Jud Tibbitts, Dustin Seals, and Drew Seals all of Dallas, Georgia; 4 great grandchildren, Lauren Tibbitts, Grant Miller, Garner Tibbitts, and Noah Tibbitts; and many nieces and nephews.

 

Mr. Vernon "Speedy" Seals is preceded in death by his loving Mrs. JoAnn Garner Seals; beloved parents, Mr. and Mrs. Tom and Ovellie Seals; 1 brother, Mr. Clyde Seals, sisters, Esma Seals, Marvine Andrews and Velma Miller.

 

The funeral service for Mr. Vernon "Speedy" Seals will be held in the Chapel of Jeff Eberhart Funeral Home on Tuesday, November 29, 2011 at 2 PM with Dr. Jim Burdette and Rev. Charles Bice officiating. Pall bearers will include Dustin Seals, Drew Seals, Jud Tibbitts, Larry Brown, Randy Postell, Kenneth Aiken, and Mike Garner. Music will be proved by Jeff Eberhart and Becky Bearden. Interment will follow at the New Georgia Baptist Church Cemetery.

 

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday, November 28, 2011 from 3-8 PM and again on Tuesday, November 29, 2011 from 9 AM until the time of the service at 2 PM.
