Mr. Cecil Lee Meeks

Cecil Meeks, age 75 of Acworth Georgia passed away on Tuesday, September 27, 2011 at his residence.

 

 

 

Mr. Meeks was born in Paulding County on February 22, 1936 to loving parents the late Mr. Earnest Meeks and Mrs. Alta Moore Meeks. He is also preceded in death by his wife of many years Mrs. Nannie Meeks and one brother Mr. Calvin Meeks.

 

 

 

Cecil worked as a driver for the concrete block distributor Blue Circle Williams. He served in the Army. He was a member of Victory Baptist Church in Acworth, GA. He enjoyed gardening, car repair and fishing.

 

 

 

Cecil Meeks is survived by his beloved wife of thirteen years Alice Mathis Meeks of Acworth, GA; three step daughters Dot Corpino of North Caroline, Jackie Miles of Woodstock, GA, and Ronda Crowe of Dallas, GA; two sisters Frances Clayton of Dallas, GA and Nadine Lacy of Acworth, GA; five brothers Charles Meeks of Waleska, GA, Doug Meeks of Marietta, GA, Denny Meeks of Hiram, GA, Roger Meeks and Franklin Meeks both of Acworth, GA; six grandchildren, many great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and other beloved family and friends.

 

 

 

Funeral Services for Cecil Meeks will be held on Friday, September 30, 2011 at Victory Baptist Church, (Priest Road, Acworth, GA) at 3 pm with the Reverend Donald Lewis and Reverend Joel Alexander officiating. Mr. Meeks will lie in state at the church from 2:30 – 3 pm. Interment will follow at Riverview Cemetery on South Cobb Drive. In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial donations be made to Compassionate Care Hospice at 5 Dunwoody Park South, Suite 118, Atlanta, GA 30338.

 

 

 

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, September 29, 2011 from 6 – 8 pm and Friday, September 30, 2011 from 9 am until we leave in procession for the church at 1:30 pm.
