Wayne Strickland, age 57, of Powder Springs (Paulding County), passed away on Friday, August 5, 2011. He was born on December 5, 1953, in Alamogordo, NM, and was preceded in death by his father, Donald Ray Strickland. Mr. Strickland was a veteran of the United States Air Force, employed at Atlantic Steel where he worked in maintenance for over 17 years, and was a member of Victory Baptist Church.

 

Survivors include his daughter, Mandy & Alex Hubbard of Cartersville; mother, Mary Strickland of Powder Springs; sister and brother-in-law, Debbie & Mike Henson of Dallas; grandson, Colton Hubbard of Cartersville; several nieces and nephews.

 

Funeral services will be held on Monday, August 8, 2011, at 11 a.m. from Clark Funeral Home Chapel, with Reverend Lloyd Lathem, Reverend Phil Davis, and Reverend Lee Lawrence officiating. Interment will follow in Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery. Charles Thompson, Robert Davis, Ricky Davis, Eddie Strickland, Gerami Henson and Larry Ward will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday, August 7, 2011, from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m.
