Mrs. Emogene Shipp Parson, age 71, of Hiram, passed away on Friday, May 6, 2005. She was born on July 26, 1933 in Cobb Co. to the late William J. and Pearl Mitchell Purser. She was a homemaker and a member of Poplar Springs Baptist Church.

Surviving are her husband of 27 years, Bobby L. Parson; sons and daughter-in-law, John W. Shipp Jr. of Hiram, Robert and Beth Parson of Hiram and Kenneth Parson of Hiram; daughters and sons-in-law, Suzanne Shipp and Alan Portwood of Hiram and Annette and David Cheek of Peoria, Illinois; Nine grandchildren; Two great-grandchildren; two nieces and a nephew.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, May 8, 2005 at 4:00 p.m. from Poplar Springs Baptist Church with Dr. Tim Walker and Reverend George Clark officiating. Mrs. Parson will lie in state at the church from 3:00 p.m. until the service time. The interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Clark Funeral Home in Hiram in charge of arrangements.
