Mrs. Georgie Irene Rackley Pickett age 86 of Hiram Georgia passed away on Friday, May 20, 2011 at her home.

 

 

 

Mrs. Georgie Pickett was born on November 6, 1924 to loving parents the late Mr. Dewey Rackley and Mrs. Ruby Wills Rackley. She was also preceded in death by her husband Mr. Carl Burleson, her husband of many years Mr. Paul Pickett, eight children Shirley Pickett, Glenda Bennett, Wayne Pickett, Jimmy Pickett, Patsy Pickett, Dale Pickett, Glenn Pickett, and Mackie Pickett, one grandson Greg Pickett, and three brothers Mr. Hubert Rackley, Mr. Doug Rackley, and Mr. Jackie Maple.

 

 

 

Mrs. Pickett worked as an upholstery seamstress for Blair Manufacturing. Her hobbies included bingo and square dancing. She was a loving mother and grandmother. Her family was her greatest joy and brought her the most happiness. She was loved by many and will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

 

 

 

Mrs. Georgie Pickett is survived by one daughter Reverend & Mrs. Henry (Alice) Walraven of Dallas, GA; one son Mr. & Mrs. Joey (Michelle) Pickett of Hiram, GA; eight grandchildren Lynn Parker, Keith Walraven both of Dallas, GA; Connie Stephens of Rome, GA, Kelly Jackson and Chrissy Ford, Jennifer Daniel, Amber Reed all of Dallas, GA, and Josh Moore of Rockmart, GA; great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, three sisters Mrs. Myrtle Gulledge and Mrs. Ada Smith both of Dallas, GA, and Mrs. Jewell Myers of Kennesaw, GA; three brothers Mr. Ray Rackley of Smyrna, GA, Mr. Jerry Rackley of Dallas, GA and Mr. Dewey Maple of Woodstock, GA; many nieces, nephews; and other beloved family members and friends.

 

 

 

Funeral services for Mrs. Georgie Pickett will be held in the Chapel of Jeff Eberhart Funeral Home on Monday, May 23, 2011 at 2 pm with the Reverend Donald Voyles and Reverend Thomas Garner officiating. Music will be provided by Jeff Eberhart and Becky Bearden. Serving as pall bearers will be Steve Jackson, Michael Moss, Justin Pledger, Joshua Reed, Corey Ford, Kelly Daniel and Tyler Hulsey. Interment will follow at New Hope Cemetery.

 

 

 

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday, May 21, 2011 from 2 – 9 pm, Sunday, May 22, 2011 9 am – 9 pm, and Monday 9 am until the service begins at 2 pm.

Haven't seen Georgie in years. So sorry for the loss. Prayers for the family. I use to spend the night at her house alot while going up with Glenda.
