Miss Bonnie Sue Ford age 48 of Dallas Georgia went home to be with Jesus on Thursday, May 5, 2011 at Wellstar Cobb Hospital in Austell, GA after a courageous battle with ovarian cancer.

 

 

 

Miss Bonnie Ford was born on April 4, 1963 in Greenwich, CT the daughter to loving parents Mr. Oliver Ford and Mrs. Gayle Clayton. She grew up in East Haddam, CT, graduating from Nathan Hale-Ray High School in 1981. A competitive athlete in high school, she was awarded Most Valuable Player in Volleyball, Basketball, and Softball. In 1985 she graduated from John Brown University with a Degree in Accounting and a Minor in Broadcasting. After briefly working at a Christian Radio station in Connecticut, Bonnie worked as a Bookkeeper for Broken Hearts Ministries for many years before becoming a Manager for PetSmart in Douglasville, GA. Bonnie was an avid cat lover and devoted her life to rescuing homeless and feral cats and placing them in loving homes. For many years she was active in Southern Hope Humane Society and Homeward Bound of Ellijay, GA. Bonnie resided in Dallas, GA for the last eight years and attended First United Methodist Church in Dallas, GA.

 

 

 

Bonnie is survived by her father Mr. & Mrs. Oliver W. (Charlene) Ford of Colchester, CT; her mother Mrs. Gayle E. Clayton of Dallas, GA, formerly of Haddam, CT; one sister Miss Karen Ford of Hadlyme, CT; two brothers Mr. Jonathan Ford and Mr. Douglas Ford both of Manchester, CT; her grandfather and his wife Mr. & Mrs. Theodore S. (Janice) Engborg of Lowell, NY, and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and her beloved kitties.

 

 

 

A Memorial Service will be held for Miss Bonnie Ford on Monday, May 9, 2011 at 11 am at the Dallas First United Methodist Church with the Reverend Steve Schofield officiating.

 

 

 

In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donations be made to Fur Kids Animal Rescue, www.furkids.org ; 770-613-0009 or The American Cancer Society, www.cancer.org.
