Clark Funeral Home Posted March 20, 2011 Report Share Posted March 20, 2011 Rufus Ivey, age 80, of Hiram, passed away on Friday, March 18, 2011. He was born on May 10, 1930, in Augusta, GA, to the late Emma Posey, and was preceded in death by son, Rufus Ivey, grandparents, Henry & Elizabeth Ivey, uncle, Ed Ivey, aunts, Honey Ivey, Helen Ivey, and Jean Ivey. Mr. Ivey was a veteran of the National Guard of the United States and worked at Sara Lee as a mixer for more than 20 years. Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Virgie M. Ivey of Hiram; uncle, Delmon Ivey of Evanston, IL; daughters and son-in-law, Roxanne Ivey of Gwinnett, Emma Ivey of Tampa, FL, Phyllis & Alex Garvin of Savannah, GA, Valerie Ivey of Powder Springs, and Donna Ivey of Chicago, IL; sons and daughters-in-law, Rodney & Debbie Ivey of Long Beach, CA, Henry Ivey of Chicago, IL, Roger & Marion Ivey of Chicago, IL, Thomas & Sarah Ivey of Chicago, IL, Michael Ivey of Highwood, IL, and Lisa Ivey of Chicago, IL; cousin, Elizabeth & Elliott Griffin of Hephzibah, GA; 20 grandchildren, and 3 great-grandchildren. Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, March 22, 2011, at 2 p.m., from Peaceful Meadows Memorial Cemetery, with Reverend Don Rackley officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, March 22, 2011, from 12:00 p.m. until 1:30 p.m. Link to post Share on other sites
