Ashley Elwood Brown, Jr., age 83, of Douglasville, GA, passed away

Thursday, February 10, 2011. He was born in Donalsonville, GA, June 10, 1927, and was preceded in death by father, Ashley Elwood Brown, Sr., mother, Mattie Lou Bush Brown, and wife, Natherlena McCall Brown.

Mr. Brown served in the U. S. Navy. He worked for the Bradford County Florida Sheriff’s Department and was a truck driver for the Whitaker Oil Company. Mr. Brown was a member of Bethel Chapel in Mableton, GA.

Survivors include his son & daughter-in-law, Michael & Donna Brown of Douglasville, GA; daughters & sons-in-law, Elaine Parks of Hiram, GA, Janice & Ronnie Day of Canton, GA and Sheila & Paul Hagler of Douglasville, GA; sister, Beatrice Benson of Starke, FL; three grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be Saturday, February 12, 2011, at 3:00 PM, from Clark Funeral Home, with Reverend Sam Locklear officiating. Interment will follow in Sunrise Memorial Gardens in Douglasville, GA. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, February 11, 2011, from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
