Funeral Director Posted December 18, 2010 Report Share Posted December 18, 2010 Mrs. Marilyn Smith Pickett age 71 of McDonough, Georgia passed away on Friday, December 17, 2010 at Vitas Hospice. Mrs. Marilyn Pickett was born on February 28, 1939 in Paulding County, Georgia; the daughter of the later Mr. & Mrs. Lemon and Opal Carnes Smith. Mrs. Pickett was a member of The Old Country Church in McDonough. She enjoyed being the homemaker and caretaker for her family. Mrs. Marilyn Pickett is survived by two sons Mr. & Mrs. Tony (Nan) Pickett of Conyers, GA, Mr. & Mrs. Todd (Heidi) Pickett of Locust Grove, GA; one daughter Mr. & Mrs. Jeff (Tina) Ralston of Stockbridge, GA; two brothers Mr. & Mrs. Sherrel (Annie) Smith of Sharpsberg, GA, Mr. Sanders Smith of Dallas, GA; two sisters Mr. & Mrs. Doy (Annie Jean) Willingham and Mr. & Mrs. Jimmy (Joan) Humphreys both of Dallas, GA; two sisters in law Mr. & Mrs. Earl (Dianru) England of Hiram, GA, Mrs. Annette Gamel of Dallas, GA; nine grandchildren Jenny, Richard, Adam, Jo Anna, Stacey, Janie, Tori, Bradley, Jill, Amy; as well as a host of nieces and nephews and loved ones. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Mr. Wendell Joe Pickett as well as her loving parents. Funeral services for Mrs. Marilyn Pickett will be held in the Chapel of Jeff Eberhart Funeral Home on Monday, December 20, 2010 at 3 pm with the Reverend Robert Vines officiating. Pall bearers will include Tony Pickett, Todd Pickett, Jeff Ralston, Adam Ralston, Bradley Pickett, and Richard Moss. Interment will follow at New Hope Cemetery. Mrs. Pickett will remain at Jeff Eberhart Funeral Home where the family will receive friends on Sunday, December 19, 2010 from 3 – 6 pm and Monday, December 20, 2010 from 9 am until the service begins at 3 pm. The family of Mrs. Marilyn Pickett suggests that in lieu of flowers memorials be made to the Music Ministry at The Old Country Church, in care of Reverend Robert Vines 2649 Highway 155 North, McDonough, GA 30252.
