Corporal Rick Gerling age 62 of Dallas Georgia passed away Thursday, November 18, 2010 at Wellstar Paulding Hospital.

 

 

 

Corporal Gerling was born on November 8, 1948 in Detroit Michigan, the son of the late Mr. & Mrs. Henry and Mary Gerling. Corporal Gerling was of the Catholic Faith. Corporal Rick Gerling served his country with pride and honor as a United States Marine, experiencing active combat during the Vietnam War.

 

 

 

Corporal Rick Gerling is survived by his wife Mrs. Sandra Gerling of Dallas, Ga; 3 sons Mr. & Mrs. Richard (Sabrina) Gerling of Albertville, Al, Mr. & Mrs. Jeff (Amy) Stephens of Fyffe, Al; and Mr. & Mrs. Scott (Katherine) Stephens of Attalla, Al; 2 daughters Mr. & Mrs. Rachel (Dwight) Gerling of Verbena, Al, and Mr. & Mrs. Regina (Brenden) Plotner of Weston, OH; 15 grandchildren and 1 great grandson 2 brothers Mr. Larry Gerling of Summerville, S.C., and Mr. Jim Gerling of Michigan; 4 sisters Mrs. Linda Johns of Oscoda, Mi, Mrs. Mary Delickta of Mayville, Mi, Mrs. Amy Turner of Michigan and Mrs. Molly Mason of Metamorra, Mi; former wife Marilyn Gerling of West Palm Beach, Fl. He was preceded in death by his loving parents.

 

 

 

Funeral Service for Corporal Rick Gerling will be held on Tuesday, November 23, 2010 at 4 PM with Reverend Father Adrian Pleus officiating. Cremation will follow.

 

 

 

Visitation Service for Corporal Rick Gerling will be held on Tuesday, November 23, 2010 from 9 AM until the service begins at 4 PM.
