Clark Funeral Home Posted November 5, 2010 Report Share Posted November 5, 2010 Douglas Fairbanks Chandler Sr., age 89, of Powder Springs, passed away on Thursday, November 4, 2010. He was born on August 30, 1921 in Acworth, GA, to the late Daniel & Louise Chandler. He was retired from Lockheed Martin after 33 years, where he was a machinist. Mr. Chandler was a Navy veteran of World War II. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ethel Chandler. Surviving are his sons and daughters-in-law, Doug Chandler Jr. & his wife, Debbie of Woodstock and Beve & Joan Chandler of Powder Springs; his daughter and son-in-law, Tammy & Darrell Shelnut of Powder Springs; sisters, Alice Cheaves & her husband Loren of Acworth and Odell Evans of Acworth; 6 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, November 7, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. from Clark Funeral Home in Hiram, GA with Chaplain Brian Beaty officiating. The interment will follow in Georgia Memorial Park in Marietta. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
