Douglas Fairbanks Chandler Sr., age 89, of Powder Springs, passed away on Thursday, November 4, 2010. He was born on August 30, 1921 in Acworth, GA, to the late Daniel & Louise Chandler. He was retired from Lockheed Martin after 33 years, where he was a machinist. Mr. Chandler was a Navy veteran of World War II. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ethel Chandler.

Surviving are his sons and daughters-in-law, Doug Chandler Jr. & his wife, Debbie of Woodstock and Beve & Joan Chandler of Powder Springs; his daughter and son-in-law, Tammy & Darrell Shelnut of Powder Springs; sisters, Alice Cheaves & her husband Loren of Acworth and Odell Evans of Acworth; 6 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, November 7, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. from Clark Funeral Home in Hiram, GA with Chaplain Brian Beaty officiating. The interment will follow in Georgia Memorial Park in Marietta. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
