Mr. Wendell Gene "Wimp" Dodd of Dallas Georgia passed away Wednesday September 15, 2010 at Wellstar Paulding Hospital.

 

 

 

Wimp was born on February 22, 1944 the son of the late Joseph Reynolds Dodd and Vera Irene Womack Dodd. Mr. Dodd was a heavy equipment operator and retired from the construction industry. Wimp was an avid reader and enjoyed watching television in his spare time.

 

 

 

Mr. "Wimp" Dodd is survived by 1 son Mr. & Mrs. Sam (Mary) Dodd of Dallas, Ga; 1 daughter Mr. & Mrs. Dwayne (Lisa) Malone of Dawsonville, Ga; 8 grandchildren Jeremy Dodd, Logan Dodd, Sami Jo Dodd, Eli Dodd, Emma Dodd, Meredith Malone, Daniel Dodd, Brittani Dodd Downey; 1 great grandchild Kaylei Megan Dodd, 2 brothers Mr. & Mrs. Bill (Patricia) Dodd, Mr. & Mrs. Roger (Brenda) Dodd; 3 sisters Mrs. Frances Walker, Mrs. Sara Butler, Mr. & Mrs. Jeff (Gail) Jenkins, his wife of 26 years Mrs. Lila Dodd; nieces, nephews, and many other beloved family members and friends. He was preceded in death by 1 son Mr. Johnny Lee Dodd, his loving parents Mr. & Mrs. Joseph (Irene) Dodd, and 1 brother Mr. Thomas Dodd.

 

 

 

Funeral Services for Mr. Dodd will be held in the Chapel of Jeff Eberhart Funeral Home on Sunday September 19, 2010 at 2 PM with Reverend Johnny Turner officiating. Music will be provided by Dwayne Malone and Jeff Dodd. Pall bearers will include Dennis Fields, Kenneth Fields, Steve Butler, Wayne Callahan, Logan Dodd and Scott Jenkins. Eli Dodd will serve as honorary pall bearer. Interment will follow at Mt. Olivet Baptist Church Cemetery.

 

 

 

The body of Mr. Dodd will remain at Jeff Eberhart Funeral Home where the family will receive friends Friday September 17, 2010 from 3 PM – 9 PM, Saturday September 18, 2010 from 9 AM – 9 PM, and Sunday September 19, 2010 from 9 AM until the service begins at 2 PM.
