Funeral Director Posted August 25, 2010 Report Share Posted August 25, 2010 Mrs. Hazel Young Loyd of Dallas Georgia passed away Wednesday August 25, 2010 at her residence in Paulding County. Mrs. Loyd was born in Barber County, West Virginia on May 7, 1923 to loving parents Mr. Stephen Lewis Mathew and Mrs. Lily Leanna Beverley Mathew. She was of the Baptist faith and a member of New Canaan Baptist Church. She loved her family and devoted her life to them working as a homemaker. She was a beautiful example of the Proverbs 31 woman, "her children will rise and call her blessed." Mrs. Loyd is survived by 2 sons Mr. William Lewis Young of Hiram, Ga; and Mr. Rickey Lee Young, Sr. of Atlanta, Ga; 2 grandchildren Mr. & Mrs. Jamey (Melissa) Hicks of Douglasville, Ga; and Rickey Lee Young, Jr. of Dallas, Ga; 2 great grandchildren Gunnar and Cannon Hicks both of Douglasville, Ga; 1 brother Mr. Clifford Lee Mathew of Girard, Oh; 1 sister Mrs. Mary Mathew Poling of Elkins, WV; a very special friend and prayer partner Conchita Bynum of Dallas, Ga; nieces, nephews as well as many other beloved family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 19 years Mr. James A. Loyd, 2 son Mr. Daniel Lee Young and James Leroy Young, Jr., both parents Mr. and Mrs. Stephen and Lily Mathew, as well as brothers and sisters. Graveside services for Mrs. Loyd will be held at 5:00 PM Friday August 27, 2010 at Peaceful Meadows Memorial Gardens with Reverend James Cook, Reverend Ron Jones, and Mr. Jamey Hicks officiating.
