Vernon F. Siskey, SR, age 83, of Rockmart (Paulding County), passed away on Saturday, June 05, 2010. Mr. Siskey was born on December 23, 1926, in Hampton, GA, to the late Archie & Jessie Siskey. Mr. Siskey was a veteran of World War II serving in the United States Navy, retired from Lockheed Martin with 36 years of service, and was a member of Saint Joes Catholic Church.

 

Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Dorothy Siskey of Rockmart; sons and daughter-in-law, Vernon Siskey JR of Yorkville, and Bill & Martha Siskey of Yorkville; daughters and sons-in-law, Theresa & Jerry Pruitt of Yorkville, and Lisa & Mike Jorge of Woodstock; brother, Mike Siskey, SR of Mableton; sisters, Arwana Siskey Largan of Temple, and Theresa Warren of Temple; ten grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews.

 

Funeral services will be held at Beulah Land Baptist Church on Tuesday, June 8, 2010, at 2 p.m., with Reverend Kent Bankston and Reverend Steve Goldin officiating. The body will lie in state at the church from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m. Interment will follow in Sunrise Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday, June 7, 2010, from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m.
