Mrs. Mary Delight Blankinship age 68, of Centre Alabama passed away January 7, 2010 at Riverview Medical Center in Gadsden Alabama.

 

 

 

Mrs. Blankinship was born on February 1, 1941 the daughter of the late Otis Lyle Harper and Rachel Elizabeth Stokeley Harper. She was a member of Sunshine Baptist Church. She loved collecting antiques and going to flea markets. Mrs. Blankinship is credited with beginning the large flea market off Hwy 92 in Acworth Georgia. It began as a yard sale, grew into what became known as Delight's, and later became what you see today.

 

 

 

Mrs. Blankinship is survived by her husband of 25 years Norman Blankinship of Centre, Al; 5 children Tina Lily, Rachel Roux-Day, Norman Blankinship Jr., Glen Blankinship, and Billy Henson; 4 grandchildren Mitchell, Chelsea, Jennifer, and Marley; as well as many other beloved family members and friends.

 

 

 

A memorial service for Mrs. Blankinship will be held Saturday January 16, 2010 at 1 PM at Sonshine Baptist Church
