Obituary

Mr. Richard Eugene Smith, 85, of Hiram, passed away on Tuesday, January 5, 2010. Services will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, January 8, 2010, in the Chapel of West Cobb Funeral Home and Crematory in Marietta. Interment will follow at Mountain View Cemetery. Mr. Smith had lived most of his life in the Cobb and Paulding County areas. He retired from Lockheed after working 37 years as an electronic technician. He was also a Veteran of the United States Army serving during WWII. He was a member of Calvary Presbyterian Church in Smyrna. Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Judy Smith of Hiram; brother, Vernon Smith of Powder Springs; sister, Kathryn Mayberry of Palmetto; grandchildren, Patricia Stewart, Ann Rakestraw, Richard Smith and Christopher Smith and 4 great-grandchildren.
