Tom Watson Rowell, age 88, of Dallas, passed away on Saturday, April 25, 2009. He was born September 8, 1920, in Carrollton, GA, to the late, John Harvey Rowell and the late, Bertha Beatrice Barlow Rowell. Mr. Rowell was a U. S. Army veteran of World War II, serving in the 750th Tank Battalion. He received the Purple Heart, American Theater Service Ribbon, Eamet Service Medal, WWII Victory Medal, and Good Conduct Medal. Mr. Rowell was a member of American Legion Post 111 and the Fraternal Order of Eagles 714. He worked for Lockheed-Martin for 14 years as a mechanic and was a member of New Canaan Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Sarah Elizabeth Eskew Rowell; son, Quinton Adkinson of Suwanee, GA; daughter, Susie Lyday of Atlanta, GA; sister, Margie Zito, Dowling Park, FL; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 2, 2009, at 11:00 am, from Clark Funeral Home Chapel, with Dr. Curtis Turner officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 9:00 am until the service time.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Helping Hands of Paulding County, 240 Professional Court, Dallas, GA.
