Edna Vermelle Thomas, age 89, of Dallas, GA, passed away on Thursday, February 19, 2009. She was born in Paulding County, July 22, 1919, and was preceded in death by her parents, Herschel L. & Katie Lou Hendrick and husband, Hoyt Q. Thomas. Mrs. Thomas was retired as a switchboard operator for Trust Company Bank. She was a member of High Shoals Baptist Church.

Survivors include her son, Jimmy H. Thomas of Riverdale, GA; brother, James Hendrick of Callahan, FL; sisters & brother-in-law, Evelyn Shipp of Hiram, GA, Eva B. & Gene Newman of Douglasville, GA and Bobbie Lee of Dallas, GA; special niece, Becky Thompson; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 21, 2009, at 3:00 pm, from Clark Funeral Home, with Rev. Rick Searle, Rev. Marvin Gunter and Rev. Neal Beard officiating. Interment will follow in Bethel United Methodist Church Cemetery. Corey Lee, Jade Lee, Jonathan Searle, Chris McCullough, Allen Carter and Danny Hendrick will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm.
