Funeral Director Posted February 11, 2009 Report Share Posted February 11, 2009 Mr. Frank "Smitty" Smith of Rockmart, Georgia went home to be with Jesus Tuesday February 10, 2009 at Polk Medical Center. Mr. Smith was born in Douglas County to his late parents George W. Smith and Lou Emma Bartlett Smith. He was a member of Christway Baptist Church. Mr. Smith also served in the Army Reserves. He retired from the United States Postal Service as a rural mail carrier for 33 years. Mr. Smith is survived by his wife of 39 years: Judy Karen Smith of Rockmart, Ga; Son: Anthony Smith of Dalton, Ga; Four Daughters: Rebecca Darlene Ely of Buchanan, Ga, Angie Taylor of Dallas, Ga, Christina Callis of Rockmart, Ga, Karen Kuhlman of Rockmart, Ga; Eight grandsons: Tony Smith, Marc Smith, Chris Smith, Ben Ely, Ryan Brock, Brandon Taylor, Matthew Brady and Stevie Callis; Six granddaughters: Ashley Gaynor, Namoi Ely, Victoria Callis, Allison Taylor, Lydia Ely and Angel Kuhlman; Six great grandchildren: Trevor Smith, Bishop Smith, Jared Smith, Brody Smith, MacKenzie Smith and Madyson Gaynor; Many nieces and nephews. Funeral Services for Mr. Smith will be held at the Jeff Eberhart Funeral Home Chapel Friday February 13, 2009 at 2:00pm with Rev. Wendell Hurston and Rev, Andy Fennell officiating, speakers will be Ryan Brock, David Sams and Ashley Gaynor. Interment will follow at Sunrise Memorial Park. Mr. Smith will remain at Jeff Eberhart Funeral Home where family will receive friends Wednesday February 11, 2009 from 6:00pm-9:00pm, Thursday February 12, 2009 from 9:00am-9:00pm and again Friday morning from 9:00am until the time of service. Pallbearers are asked to meet at the funeral Home Friday by 1:30pm and they include; Chris Smith, Ben Ely, Brandon Taylor, Ryan Brock, Matthew Brady and Stevie Callis. Honorary Pallbearers include, Anthony Smith, Tony Smith, Marc Smith. Jeff Eberhart Funeral Home has charge of all arrangements for Mr. Frank "Smitty" Eugene Smith. Link to post Share on other sites
