Betty Joyce Bass age 77 of Dallas, Ga., passed away on Monday, September 1, 2008. She was born December 26, 1930 in Atlanta, Ga., daughter of the late, Barney Fred Black and the late, Bessie Mae Black Hagelgans, also preceded in death by husband, Wayne G. Bass, Sr., son, Wayne G. Bass, Jr., grandsons, Sam Reed and Chris Yearwood. Mrs. Bass was retired from Lockheed as secretary/stenographer with 39 years of service, and she also worked in security for Paulding Senior Center for 18 years where she was very active in the Arts and Crafts department. She also enjoyed painting and helping families with chemical dependency problems, and was a member of the Red Hat Society.

 

Survived by sons, Gilbert Yearwood & wife, Vicky of Dallas, GA, Jim Yearwood & wife, Jan of Dallas, GA, Robby Yearwood & wife, Theresa of Dallas, GA, William Bass & wife, Carol of Marietta, GA; daughters, Martha Ziegenhals & husband, Allen of Texas, Donna Taylor & husband, Doug of Douglasville, GA; sister-in-law, Barbara Hezlett & husband, Paul of Florida; 15 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and 2 great- great-grandchildren.

 

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, September 3, 2008 at 2pm from Clark Funeral Home with Rev. Evett Guyton officiating with interment to follow in Arlington Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Tuesday, September 2, 2008 from 5-8Pm at Clark Funeral Home.
