Bessie Mae (Black) Hagelgans age 95 of Douglasville passed away July 15, 2008 at her residence. Mrs. (Black)Hagelgans was a Foster Parent in Paulding County she cared for over 100 children through out the years.

 

Born March 9, 1913 in Fulton County to her parents James and Lena(Barber)Barner.

 

 

Her survivors include; A Daughter: Betty J Bass of Dallas Ga; Grandchildren: Donna &Doug Taylor of Douglasville Ga, Jim&Jan Yearwood of Dallas Ga, Robby&Theresa Yearwood of Dallas Ga, Glibert&Vicky Yearwood of Dallas Ga; 13 Great Grandchildren; 17 Great Great Grandchildren; 1 Great Great Great Grandson; Brother: WC Barner of Arab Al; Several nieces and nephews. Mrs.(Black) Hagelgans is preceded in Death by: First Husband: B.F "Fred" Black, Husband: Otto J. Hagelgans, Grandchildren: Sam Reed, Holly Taylor, Chris Yearwood, Brother: James Barner Sisters: Ruby Barner, Irene Disharoom, Son in Law: Wayne G. Bass.

 

Visitation: Wednesday July 16, 2008 6-9pm at Jeff Eberhart Funeral Home

 

Service: 2:00pm Thursday July 17, 2008 at Pine Ridge Baptist Church She will lie in State 1:00pm

 

Officiating: Rev. CL Powers, Pallbearers: John Townsend, Kevin Townsend, Fred Reed, Steve Yearwood, David Ford, Larry Johnson, Alt. Pallbearer: Doug Taylor, Honorary Pallbearer: Robby Yearwood
