Alton Lanier Hewin, age 83, of Franklin, passed away on Friday, June 13, 2008. He was born August 21, 1924, in Greenville, SC, to the late, Paul & Mary Elizabeth Hewin. Mr. Hewin was a veteran of World War II, where he served in the Army Air Corp and he was a carpenter with the East Point Housing Authority.

Survivors include his son, Richard Paul Hewin of Fayetteville; daughter & son-in-law, Bonnie & Barry Reed of Franklin; sisters, Doris Petreski of San Diego, CA, Dale & Johnny Hubbard of Atlanta, and Paulette Robinson of Griffin; grandchild, Robert Brian Latham; great-grandchildren, Adelyn Grace Latham, Rabon Brian Latham, and Luke Steven Latham; nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, June 17, 2008, at 11:00am, from Clark Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 10:00am until the service time.
