Janie Elizabeth Smith, age 78, of Villa Rica, passed away on Sunday, December 16, 2007. She was born on April 6, 1929 in Fort Payne, AL to the late Archibald and Ellen Faukner. She was preceded in death by her husband, Woodrow Wilson Smith, a son, Norman (Bill) Smith and her grandson, Arthur Lackey.

Survivors include her sons and daughter-in-law, Grady & Beth Lackey of Hiram and Robert Smith of Hiram; daughters and son-in-law, Janice Steele of Hiram, Jane & Woodrow Taylor of Villa Rica, and Mavis & Glenn Freeman of Bowdon; brothers and sister-in-law, William (Bill) Faukner of Birmingham, AL and A. C. & Mary Faukner of Stevenson, AL; sister, Claudia Miller of Fort Payne, AL; 11 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, December 18, 2007 at 3:00 p.m. from Clark Funeral Home in Hiram. GA. The interment will follow in Bethel United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Clark Funeral Home in Hiram, GA is in charge of arrangements. www.samclarkfuneralhome.com.
