Funeral Director Posted June 17, 2007 Report Share Posted June 17, 2007 Mr. Pledger L. Hicks age 90 of Dallas, GA passed away on Sunday, June 17, 2007. He was born November 29, 1916 in Dallas, GA to Eldred C. and Lillie May Hicks. Mr. Hicks was an Army veteran of World War II serving in the Philippine Islands and New Guinea. He retired in 1975 from the publications and forms department at Fort McPherson, GA. He spent his retirement taking care of his invalid wife, gardening and visiting old friends. He was also a volunteer firefighter and voting official. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 62 years, Claudia B. Hicks; Son, Larry D. Hicks; sister, Edythe Scuiletti; brothers, William D. and John N. Hicks; son-in-law, Richard M. Rose. The family will receive friends on Monday, June 18, 2007 at the funeral home from 5PM until 9PM. Services for Mr. Hicks will be on Tuesday, June 19, 2007 at 2PM at the High Shoals Baptist Church with Rev. Sam Shipp officiating. Internment will follow in the High Shoals Baptist Church Cemetery. He is survived by his daughter, Brenda H. Rose; 7 grandchildren, 8 great-grand children and several nieces and nephews. Pall Bearers: Bill Rose, John Hicks, Noah Hensley, Sanford Hensley, Joey Pomponi and Ernest Jewell. Link to post Share on other sites
