Loyd J. (Casey) Jones, age 86, of Dallas, GA, passed away on Sunday, October 8, 2017.  He was born on May 7, 1931, in Ball Ground, GA, to the late Vernie Lee & Florence Jones, and was preceded in death by his first wife, Odene Jones, and grandson, Scott Jones. Mr. Jones was a United States Army Veteran serving in the Korean War, retired after 40 years of service from Glidden Paint Company where he worked as a paint specialist, and was a member of New Canaan Baptist Church. Loyd played bluegrass gospel at the Jam at Poplar Springs Baptist Church every month and at the Community Center in Rockmart once a month.  He loved to fish, garden and cut grass.


Survivors include wife of 22 years, Marvine Jones of Dallas, GA; sons, Gary Jones of Dallas, GA, and David & Debbie Jones of Smyrna, GA; stepdaughter, Trina & Jeff Sylvester of Dallas, GA; sister, Minnie Bell & Jack Newton of Marietta, GA; grandchildren, Christopher & Rachel Jones, Kimberly & Justin Gibson, Shannon & Chris Noggle, Jamie Jones, Kelli Jones, Jessie Jones; step-grandchildren, Hannah Shadrix, Jesse & Lexi Shadrix, Lori Shadrix, and Jonathan Sylvester; great-grandchildren, Mackenzie Jones, Caleb Jones, Emma Gipson, Ethan Gipson, Kaila Noggle, and Alana Noggle; numerous nieces and nephews.


Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, October 11, 2017, at 11 AM, from New Canaan Baptist Church, with Reverend Jason Loudermilk and Reverend Chris Noggle officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Harmony Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, October 10, 2017, from 5 PM until 8 PM.


In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to New Canaan Baptist Church Building Fund, 3147 Atlanta HWY, Dallas, GA 30132.

Loyd was a super nice man with a mischievous sense of humor and he will be sorely missed.  My thoughts are with the family.
