Jean E. Ross, age 77, of Powder Springs, passed away on Thursday, August 25, 2016. She was born on June 9, 1939, to the late Rayford Winston Edge and Bernice Bunch, and was preceded in death by her husband, Clifford Donald Ross, and brothers and sisters. Jean loved her grandchildren & loved texting with them, was an avid sports and bulldog fan, coached Special Olympics softball for several years and loved to play golf. Mrs. Ross retired from the Imaging Center & Women’s Center at Wellstar Cobb as a File Room Clerk, and was a member of First Baptist Church of Jasper.

 

Survivors include children, Connie & Stan McIntyre of Newnan, GA, Keith & Christine Hicks of Powder Springs, GA, and Cindy & Mark Hunter of Hiram, GA; grandchildren, Meghan & Deven Rush, Jessi & Coleman Madison, Daniel & Courtney McIntyre, Kelli Cross & Nick Curtis, Chris McIntyre, and Michelle & John Gentry; great-grandchildren, McKennon Gentry and Kylie Gentry; step-children and step-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

 

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, August 28, 2016 at 3 PM, from Clark Funeral Home, with Dr. Randal Whitten officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday, August 28, 2016, from 12 PM until 3 PM.

 

Graveside services will be held on Monday, August 29, 2016, at 10:30 AM, from Georgia National Cemetery.
