Helen Murphy Lee, age 74, of Douglasville, GA, formerly of Mableton, passed away on Sunday, August 9, 2015. She was born on January 27, 1941, in Tallapoosa, GA, to the late Levern S. & Ota Mae Murphy, and was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Sherrill Lee, sister, Betty Cosper, and brother, Hal Murphy. Mrs. Lee was the owner of Atlanta West Reporters for 32 years. She was a member of Mableton First Baptist Church and South Cobb Jaycettes. Mrs. Lee was a registered nurse and an avid walker.

 

Survivors include daughters and son-in-law, Ginger Stratton of Dallas, GA, and Aprile & Ricky Mathis of Dallas, GA; brother, Andrew S. Murphy of GA; sister and brother-in-law, Linda & Frank Widincamp of Brunswick, GA; grandchildren, Lacey & Jesse Lawrence, S. Cole & Lindsey Stratton, Tripp Mathis, Sarah Stratton, and Will Mathis; several nieces and nephews.

 

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 15, 2015 at 11 AM, with Dr. Gregg Potts and Ginger L. Stratton officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Harmony Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, August 13, 2015, from 5 PM until 8 PM.
