  1. I have a gutter cleaning service here in Dallas. This post is not about my business or advertising, so I'm going to stay away from that. I worked for a Paulding County School Board member today. Her name is Kim Cobb. People I am telling you. This is a really sweet woman. She has alot of passion and concern for the education in Paulding county. It was a joy working for her. I really believe she is in the right spot for this county. I would have never thought this before. Very down to earth, and kind lady.

  3. Saw this piece on rawstory, which gives a brief, readable and coherent explanation of the role of common core educational standards. Thought it was worth sharing.
  4. First time I saw this, it was illuminating on the issue of education as well as delivered in a funny manner by a Brit with wit. Hope you enjoy it and I hope that those with closed minds may open them a smidgen, to pull a Briticism? pubby
  5. This was in today's AJC. Surprised I didn't see it here. School board holds tax-increase hearings The Paulding County Board of Education will hold the final two of three public hearings on a proposed tax hike of 14.3 percent due to property value increases. The hearings will be at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday and 8: 30 a.m. July 22 at the Paulding County Board of Education, 3236 Atlanta Highway, Dallas. Information: paulding.k12.ga.us.
  6. I've posted several pieces from RSA ... which for those who don't know is the Royal Society of the Arts - a 262 year old institution that, at least when he was alive, included amongst its members Benjamin Franklin. Given the level of debate in Georgia over education, I think it may demonstrate the difficulty I have relating to anyone running for that office as I basically see them all as defenders of the status quo which is woefully inadequate.
