  1. So I take it you would have a problem with AG Holder overriding the State of Michigan's gay marriage ban, then?
  2. Well, Pat.... As I remember from past elections, darn few of the candidates actually bought much in the way of advertising. I don't remember seeing much, if any, ads from the Austins. Nor the Sheriff. Or any of the local council positions. And the biggest opponent to the Coroner lost his butt, despite having a presence here on Pcom. So, I'm not so sure that this venue would have much effect on the election outcomes, free advertising or not. And, the "interview" with David Austin done by LPPT in the last election cycle was so painfully awkward to watch, I'd bet the memory o
  3. Mrs. Howard...... In the famous words of Mark Twain, "Never argue with an idiot. They will only drag you down to their level and beat you with their experience." Ronald Reagan must have been thinking of a few on this forum when he said "The trouble with liberals is that they know so many things that aren't true."
  4. Wherever it is that he moves to...I hope they don't have internet connections.
  5. Ahhhh...more Paulding County "justice". Or, more accurately, lack of justice. We have a woman who shot her husband in the back of the head, then burned down their house with his corpse inside, who is out of jail on bond. So. even if they do catch the young man's murderer, I don't look for much to happen to the culprit.
  6. Every floor joist has a "crown" which is supposed to be up against the weight of the floor. We had a house which had a wood "beam" down the middle of the house ( left to right) and the joists were hung off that beam. Only problem with that idea is that when Juan and Pedro framed up the beam, they put the crown down. We had a major sag issue, maybe as much as 1.5 inches. I did what someone else suggested, got screw jacks and slowly cranked the center beam back up to where it was supposed to be.
  7. It was fun, too, until we took all your money and you quit showing up.
  8. Nah. The wind is blowing the white blossoms off the pear trees. Same size as snow flakes, though.
  9. The one I went to was Crest. On the South end of town on 41, turn right at the light that is just at the city limits and follow the road back about 1/2 mile. Nice people.
  10. Actually I just got home from C'ville. Found what I wanted at about 10% of what a dealer would want, IF they had it in stock. Have I told you all recently how much I absolutely HATE the local CJD dealer?
  11. Ya know, Proxy? I have tried to read some of your posts, and for the life of me I have NO idea what you are talking about. But if it makes you feel better to joust at the various windmills.....OK, then. Have at it.
  12. I need a part for an '09 Jeep Grand Cherokee. Dealers don't have it.
  13. I need a salvage yard. One with some late model cars. I know about Lost Mountain on 92 at E.Paulding area, they don't have what I need. Any ideas? I mean, other than the junk heaps up on blocks in somebody's front yard.
  14. Now, now! One of my closest bunch of friends' Daddy was a MHP stationed in Kennett. And Trooper Petty didn't tolerate that.
  15. David Parks or Michael Vick. They are #1 and #1A. In the building next to the new hospital.
  16. Say whut? What did I do now? St.Radial is cozying up to me 'cause he thinks I have a big winning ticket and he wants to be "family". He's been my bud for the last 18 years, and I love him like a brother. Unless it comes to playing poker or the lottery, then, he's a mortal enemy.
  17. Sniff!!! Are you trying to set me up to borrow something?
  18. Shhhhh! Some things are best kept quiet. That's why I wanted to check them myself. I don't know if a clerk would tell the truth if it were a big hit....
  19. I was in a store somewhere that a scanner/ reader for lottery tickets. It was self service so you could check your losing numbers. Can anybody point me towards one?
  20. When is his retirement supposed to become effective? I betcha that the powers that be will cook up some scheme for his departure as soon as they have hand-picked his successor. Retirement one day, swearing in of the new guy the next. My money's on Glenn Richardson being "picked". Please, just let it be ANYBODY but the knucklehead Magistrate.
  21. I just saw a minor fender-bender at the Zaxby's near Wallyworld on 120. Neither car was severely damaged, the air-bags didn't deploy, Mostly some cracked plastic fenders and a headlite or two. Nothing that couldn't have been driven home. What I saw was TWO roll-back wreckers loading the cars, and GSP working an accident on private property. The outer loop of Walmart's parking lot is private property, right? I've lived in Paulding for coming up on 25 years. Every, and I mean EVERY traffic accident I have seen in this county is worked by GSP. WHY??????? Not withstanding t
  22. Yo, Pubs!!! is that picture of you in the striped shirt supposed to make you look like Fred Thompson? I saw that pic and did a double take...
