Pubby, Do You Have an Endorsement for BOC chairman?

Your concept of operating an airport is like a real-estate developer who builds a strip mall and then decides to only rent spaces to low volume specialty retailers and leave half the place standing empty. Depending on aviation hobbyists to support a general aviation facility just plain isn't going to happen. Individuals who own planes are going to hangar them where it is convenient to their homes or business. And while there are a few such people in West Paulding, certainly not enough to float the airport's boat. If there is no corporate activity, this place is going to cont -

And given the makeup of the Commission, I'm totally unconvinced that even IF there were 9 residents that could serve.... a.) the Commissioners would see past their "indignation", b.) be wise enough to actually appoint said residents, c.) provide any leadership and direction to said appointees, and d.) stay out of the way, if and when the first 3 things happened. -

You are a stuck record. Over and over and over and over again The old adage about if you tell a lie long enough even you begin to believe it is happening right in front of our eyes. The actual facts about the $$$ invested in the airport is vastly different from your speculations. Rather than go off on one of your rambling tantrums about who-done-what and accuse people of doing things, why not present a solution? You and your buds have worn out all the finger-pointing, and name dropping and blame placing. We all agree that things should have been done differently, but -

I just drove in front of Austin's home. Carmichael's campaign sign is in the front yard. Apparently Austin didn't get the memo. Typical of the delusional nonsense you post. You just "know" so much that isn't even close to right. -

How DARE you interject common sense and rational thought into all this controversy? -

Obviously you weren't around when there was a dragstrip in E. Paulding? An airplane once or twice a day is nothing to an entire weekend of dragsters. "E. Paulding Drive" used to be named "Dragstrip Road". -

And as the overall property values go down, the individual property tax percentages have to increase because the County government has a "standard of living" that they must maintain. -

The airport is ALREADY a small general aviation airport. Generating about enough revenue a day to make a trip to Starbucks. What would you do to get enough revenue to make the place self-sufficient? What's going to pay the mortgage, so to speak? Or do you just think the homeowners should suck it up and pay higher property taxes? I understand you have an outrage. What I am trying to understand is what would placate you and Whitey and the rest of the "anti's"? I know what has happened, know you don't like it. What specific plans could you propose that would make things OK? -

Why, thanks for the very intelliegent comment. Do you have a solution to the whole airport thing? You are one of the more vocal complainers.. what would you do about it? You can't roll back the clock and bitching about the people who started things aren't going to fix the problem. So, what solution to you propose? Banging your cup on your high chair isn't gonna help. -

It certainly will be for you. You are so obsessed with all the alleged plots and sub plots and conspiracy theories and who-done-its that you imagine and suppose to have happened that you have ignored one main fact. And that FACT is this: THE AIRPORT IS HERE, AND IT IS HERE TO STAY. Like it or not, support it from the beginning or not, the fact is, it is sitting out there on Hwy 278 and sucking $$$ out of our budget. And that elephant in the room ain't gonna disappear. More than 75% of the county's tax revenue is sitting squarely on the shoulders of the homeowners. And, tha -

I know why you think that. Robbie has a "no-fly" sign in his front yard, doesn't he? Funny that when you go through his list of friends on FB, all of the sitting commissioners and several of those who oppose him in this race are in his friends list. -

Man, oh, man.... You and 6 other people had lunch with someone and didn't come away with knowledge of what his experience is? Yet, in another post, you declared he was the most honest and ethical person in the race. How could you know that? If you have no facts about his business dealings, his cohorts, his education, then, what do you have? If you are willing to entrust a $150 million budget to someone who may not even own a suit of clothes...that says a lot. This all reminds me of 8 years ago when Joey Frey ran for Sheriff. Nice guy, but absolutely no LE credentials -

I doubt there has ever been a businessman, a librarian, a doctor, a husband, a wife, a neighbor...whatever....that hasn't referred to a customer, a patron, a patient, a mate, a sibling, a child, a boss, or a co-worker as a "problem". The context in which Carmichael was speaking was that department heads have deadlines and responsibilities. I took his comments to mean that a County Administrator (and staff) could "run interference" from citizens who had questions or concerns that were being raised at a difficult time for the Department head's schedule. Hence the word "problem" in the in -

I had already read the articles you posted. What he did (is doing) is a wonderful project. He is no doubt a kind-hearted soul. I'm more focused on managerial skills and knowledge of finance and budgets. The fact that he's a great guy and opposes the airport is apparently reason enough for you to support him? -

We have 5 candidates qualified. Qualified to "run" doesn't necessarily mean qualified to "serve"....... Leggett. A former commissioner who hasn't served in nearly 20 years. Undistinguished civilian career. Equally undistinguished career on the commission. Carruth. Former commissioner and chairman who nurtured the robber baron mega developers on one hand while getting fat off of the grading work they needed in the other hand. Galloway. Jerry Shearin in a skirt. In bed, politically speaking, with Howard Maxwell and Paulette Rakestraw. Nuff said. Dobson. Tow t -

It is not all that important one way or the other. He had announced his intention to seek the Chairman's job back last July or August. He told me at that time that he would have to relinquish his Post 1 seat. I knew of his plans before they had been announced and were common knowledge. I have been told, on two different occasions, that the November 10 date resignation date was determined not by Dave, but by Diedra. The info she provided him triggered that date. Not any under-the-table deals. Stop looking for black helicopters. The ones Dave knows how to fly are cammo. -

Even IF what you are saying is accurate (and it isn't), Post 1 would have been unrepresented for the same number of days no matter what election date triggered the resignation. Would you prefer the Post be unrepresented for 5 meetings in Dec, Jan, and Feb vs 6 or 7 meetings in Feb, Mar, April, and May in 2016? As usual, you are making a mountain out of a mole hill.
