  1. I am on New Brooklyn Church off of Taylors Gin. Our power is still ok. Tell her if it gets too bad she can come hang out in our air :)

I went on the Carroll Cty EMC website, there are 1500 meters out, they've had over 250 calls. Right now she's moving her food in her freezer upstairs to her big one downstairs. We're just wanting to know if it's going to be out for a while, she may have to bring her food to my house. Thanks for the invite.

  2. Did you play softball at Jonquil Park?

Yes, I did. Do you remember me? Who are you? You can pm me if you like.

So Diane Logan is your sister?

Do I know you? I also went to Nash and Wills with Diane.

I just got your pm, no me and Diane were just good friends.

  3. I thought you might like to know there is a book that I have named The Paper Boy By Pete Wood that is awesome. The book is a collection of his memories from the middle of the Twentieth Century. Pete was a paper boy for old school Smyrna. It tells all about who lived where and what kids they had where they are now. The book has lots of history and pictures. I'm sure the Smyrna Library has a copy. The book is broken up by streets. This is what it has on my family.

    "Old Concord Road

    The Country Road

    Westside

Old Concord road in the days of my youth was an unpaved country road.( Lucile Cobb, Who grew up on Old Concord Road, remembers its being paved in 1955.) Running from Concord Road, on the south end, it crossed the Access Highway, ( Now South Cobb Drive), and connected with Atlanta Road in the vicinity of the present Naval Air Station.

    Fourth House

Mr. and Mrs. Edgar Peyton Logan,Sr. were residents of ths house, built by Mr. Logan for his family. Mrs. Logan's given name was Ethel; Mr. Logan was known as Pete. The Logans had three sons: Joe , Orrin Brown, known as Brown, and Edgar Peyton,Jr. known as Eddie. ( Joe and Brown were twins.)

Orrin Brown Logan known as Brown, Married Myra Milam of Smyrna. They had three children: Barry,Diane and Sandy. Brown and Mayra built a house on the South side of Church Road, between South CobbDrive and Ols Concord Road, Where they lived next door to Joe and Nancy. Brown and Marya divorced in 1979.

Barry married Suan Dillard, the daughter of Bill and Elinor Dillard, who lived in the Bennett Woods subdivision for many years. Barry and Suan had three children, Jenna, Michael, and Abby.

Diane married Tony Camp of Smyrna. They had two children, Kristen and Alex. After thier divorce, Diane married Dennis Underwood of Austell, where Diane, Dennis, and their 5 children live.

Sanda married Wesley Kay of Smyrna: They had two sons: Joe and Max. Wesley died while on the job with Smyrna Cable in 1987. Sandy and her sons live in Aiken, South Carolina.

Orrin Brown Logan, in 1977 married again to Cathrine Day of Covington: They had one daughter, Lorrin Day. Brown Logan died in December 2002 from complications due to Pulmonary Fribrosis.

Lorrin Day Logan married Jerry Scott of Mableton. They had three children Ryan, Kaitlyn, and Logan. The Scotts live in Temple where they own MDS Forklifts.

Brown and Joe Logan, together, worked with their Dad, Pete, in building and development. The last subdivision Joe and Brown developed together was Covered Bridge Crossing, off South Hurt Road."

It keeps going on about what the family did, where they went to church and on and on. It is really neat for my kids to see. Its a part of their history too.

Ok, Im done now just thought you might like to know if your family is in the book.

We grew up in Smyrna. Scot went to Campbell, graduated in 1979, and I went to Wills, graduated in 1981. I lived on Dunton Circle, which was across the street from the intersection of Concord and Old Concord Rd. Scot used to live across from the ballpark on Concord Rd., Hunter Street. I was real close to Sandy, Diane and Mark Logan, I remember when Wesley died, it was horrible. If any of you still talk to Diane or Mark, tell them Susan Swann said Hi.

  5. I live in Paces Lakes and have a high schooler. We had a problem getting her transfer from Cobb County and had to register her last minute by the time we finished on Friday the transportation department was closed. Does anyone know what time the high school bus will be in Paces Lakes and where it picks up?

My guess is around 8:00. My niece lives on Indian Hills Dr and I'm pretty sure it is the same bus. I would look starting about 10 till. All the buses usually get to the school around 8:20.

  8. My dh face is going to turn 10 shades of red when he sees my the hood of my Van. My girl cat loves to sleep on the windshield. No problems for months.

Well, I just discovered a set of long scratch marks on the hood.

Dh is ANAL about the vehicles.

The scratches does not appear to have went deep enough to scratch paint. It appears to have taken off the top coat of gloss?

    ANy suggestions?

My husband has a mobile paint touch up business. He can come to you or you can bring it here. He can give you a free estimate. If the scratches are deep a detail will not get them out. Give him a call 770-597-5788. I am working on getting him on as a commerce member on paulding.com
