  1. I like women period. But not women's periods. Yes, style points are important!
  2. It's going to get built. After the election, you'll never hear it spoken of again. It's just rabble rousing. Those deliverance-types down in Florida - That's the target audience of this message of hate.
  3. East Paulding defeats Douglas County Hiram defeats Paulding County North Paulding defeats South Paulding Tiebreaker: East Paulding 28 Douglas County 6
  4. Oh. Antis would build a church, but it wouldn't be a church of antis. Nah, it doesn't make any sense that way either. If you're equating this to the muslim church are you saying that muslims would be building the church, but it wouldn't be a mosque? I didn't think so. See, it made no sense at all!
  5. On one hand, I support freedom of speech. On the other hand, I advocate civil disobedience when the situation calls for it. In this case, I can't take the side of the Koran burners except to say that they have the right to do it. If somebody whips their asses for doing it, then I'd say that they got what was coming to them. Now the ass-whippers would have to pay the price of their misdeed. It's still a nation of laws. I was at a Braves game many years ago when a little skinny drunk guy kept on and on about a player from the other team being stupid Pollack. The guy behind
  6. I didn't know that there was a church of anti - (bigwordthatstartswithA). I'd say that if this "church" were hell-bent on causing trouble, then it wouldn't matter where they were physically located, right? If they wanted to blow up the place, they could be headquartered ten miles away and the result would be the same.
  7. What are you babbling about? If you don't think that the bunch down in Florida are southern christian kkk types -- the only thing missing from that Jones guy was a hangman's noose and a robe. It's the same inbred mentality, though. Find a "foreign" person, preferably black or brown-skinned, paint them all with the same, bigoted, prejudicial broad brush and try to recruit people for your cause. I don't think anything about people at tea parties. Where did that come from??? I thought that this was about those jack-legs down in Florida! You know that their website was taken down by the compan

John Bleakley Ford - "The Old Reliable" Old Ironsides Old as dirt Old English The old man and the sea Old Timer Old Yeller Old Dominion (college) Auld Lang Syne Old Grey Mare Reliable Transportation Reliable Friend As reliable as the sun rising in the morning That's all I have off the top of my head. There seem to be a lot more old things than reliable things!!!
  9. Way to go, Sheriff Gurley! Nip it!!
  10. It's not about religion, of course. It's about power. Not coincidentally, I think, an election is coming up. Yeah, the economy sucks and then so is the job market. There have been no attacks on American soil, though -- So that's an opportunity area for the radical right. I can see Karl Rove right now -- "If we could only find some in-bred southern christian kkk type to insult the hell out of muslims - maybe we could get some trouble started over here!!" "I'll get Fox News on it and see what I can get going! - Now it needs to be somebody who looks like he just stepped off the set of '
  11. This is radical right wing christians trying to bully muslims. If the muslims willingly give up their constitutional rights, they're crazy! That would be just the beginning of christians attempting to push them out -- of wherever they are. You can't paint all people with the broad brush of prejudice! It's the way that jews were treated before and during WWII. They were stereotyped, minimalized and marginalized. The attempt was to make them appear less. It's difficult to take aim, you see, at a peer. Because then you see the reflection of yourself in the other's eyes. It doesn't sound
  12. Right now, the real threat seems to be coming from this nut-job in Florida! Have people forgotten how to walk in the other person's shoes? Have christians abandoned "do unto others"? It's becoming evident that the jesus christ model isn't working for modern-day Americans. As far as allowing THEM to dictate the mosque location - Them is us! They are AMERICANS!!! Surely you're not saying that the country should now discriminate on the basis of religion! If you are, then you've abandoned the jesus christ model AND you've abandoned the Constitution! Doesn't that make you more like the f
  13. You're exactly right! Would "Jones" want the bible burned? Of course not! Then it's a matter of "Do unto others..." I'd watch out for this guy/this group. I think that they could be really dangerous! If I were in charge of national intelligence, I'd be getting someone to infiltrate this organization right now to see if there could be probable cause to do a search of the property. It's a cult, certainly. And they carry guns. I wouldn't be surprised to see them wage an all-out shooting rampage in a Jim Jones style protest.
  14. I'm not following you here, SG. You know that those building the Islamic Center in New York are Americans, right? The Imam is an American. What's good for the freedom of religion goose is good for the koran-burning gander. The Constitutional rights are preserved and protected appropriately.
  15. I eat weird stuff too. The cheap ham/turkey slices I lay one out and place a slice of faux cheese over it. I roll it up like carpet, the cheese inside the ham/turkey slice. That might be good with chips! I also eat just one kind of food at a meal sometimes. Like tonight is "root night" I'll have potatoes and carrots and turnips - you know -- roots!
  16. I think that Mayor Bloomberg of New York got it just right. Yes to the mosque. Yes to the burning. Not that he agrees with either - it's not for him to say. But the freedom of religion and the freedom of speech are fundamental rights in the American Experience. Other than that, I agree completely. Bring our boys home and let them keep AMERICA safe. Otherwise, what begins as a single mission turns into a hundred years of occupation! We are too spread out and it's about to make us vulnerable. About Afghanistan, Pakistan, Iraq - They are happy to let our guys do the fighting and dying on thei
  17. Thinking about this, this situation doesn't even test the limits of the law. As a Free Expression of his right to free speech, what if the pastor wanted to blow up the korans instead of or in addition to burning them? Blow them up with legally obtained explosive combinations. As long as it isn't a physical danger to anyone, on private property - what would be the difference? I guess that there's an implied threat, but that could be said for holding a "koran-burning" by guys with guns!
  18. I look at it like this - People should speak out against the book burning, but it should be allowed. The supporters of the desecration lose the right to claim "foul" when their religious icons are desecrated. This desecration reminds me of the Mapplethorpe exhibit from years ago. It featured a piece called, "Piss-Christ" where the crucifixion scene was immersed in urine. Remember? Sinead O'Conner tearing up a picture of the Pope - Remember? These are hurtful, cruel actions, these desecrations. Not to me, you understand, because I don't buy into any of it. But to those who ARE fai
  19. Hypocrisy and irony abound! Where to start with this? How about the fact that the money spent on the korans to burn them -- Probably went to muslims! And then the pastor ended his interview with the statement - "The only way to forgiveness is through jesus christ". Forgiveness? I'm not seeing the pastor as being very forgiving!
  20. Just as the muslims in New York have the right to build a couple of blocks away from ground zero, the pastor has a right to burn a book on his property, as long as he's not violating any laws.
  21. Here's something that I'm not sure that I understand. Apparently, no one is worried about a muslim attack on our homeland. The Florida preacher? Not worried that muslims will retalitate against him. Why not? Because they're not a real threat over here! Crazy christians! This guy wanting to burn books! The guy who protests funerals who is anti-gay -- Look at what's happening to the institution. It's becoming obsolete!
  22. The knots on my ties don't have names. Why name them?
  23. I like the one when Aunt Bee came for the first time. Opie shut her out and she was about to leave and go back home when Opie rushes out to beg her to stay. That's my fave!
  24. She's one of the nicest people in the world, so giving! Atlanta is going to be poorer for her leaving. She was involved in so many civic causes, esp. Humane Society, as she has a passion for the humane treatment of animals. That won't change, though. The whole story of her loss is heart-breaking! But that's just her - She loves THAT deeply! I hate to see her go!
