Les is the man - plays a good harmonica, too! I like his show so much more than Man Vs. Wild. Bear Grylls has a full staff of people around to make sure that he doesn't get hurt. I find the whole concept of "celebrity status" fascinating! It's really difficult to figure out why people put other people on a pedestal. Besides that, I think that "hate" is a strong word for someone whom you've never met, won't ever meet,and don't know what the person's REALLY like. It's not your fault that you don't know what "free speech" is. Our school systems do a very poor job of teaching civics, the law, and citizenship. Free speech means that you remain free from incarceration, to express yourself. In other words, the police can't come and arrest you for voicing, or otherwise legally communicating, your discontent. It doesn't mean that there are no repercussions outside the perview of law enforcement.

A person has the right to say, on Facebook, for example, that his boss sucks. This "right" only means that he won't be jailed for talking smack about his boss and doesn't guarantee a future with the company.

Unless the guns are showing signs of degradation, there's no reason to believe that they aren't fully functional. Guns don't "go bad" from not being shot. Do you have the ammunition to go with them? I think that the reference was to usage. A person cannot be an "alumni". One is an alumna or an alumnus. While those who are aware of the distinction "got" the reference, it's not fair to those who didn't get it to leave 'em hanging.
