Many are novices in dealing with these fur-bearers! They can usually be found near their dam homes. They like wood! Leave it to beaver! The guy chose to use his fishing rod against an attacking, slow moving animal, instead of just walking/runnning away from it. I think that it has to do with the person or people who were the accomplices of TMH. The landscaper? Lots of landscaper employees, possibly undocumented workers - difficult to trace because they don't leave a paper trail or a virtual trail.
