  1. To be honest, I can't remember .. I was only 19 at the time, not an experienced mommy. It may not of been. He wasn't an average 6 month old. He was born with teeth and was walking by 6 months old. He was also VERY tall for his age.
  2. Our 6 year old is gong to be Strawberry Shortcake ( she's already got the red, curly hair ) She was Lemon Meringue last year and we got massive compliments ... The year before that .. she was a candy corn monster I always love the costumes she comes up with.
  3. My oldest son flipped out of his crib when he was only 6 months old. We had tile floor and it scared the hell out of me. Since, and 5 kids later .. we have never used a crib. We had them sleep with us, used playpens .. or just had them sleep on the floor with a gate in their doorway. Cribs scare me I also agree that toddler beds are a big waste of money. We also went straight to twin beds
  4. It depends on the kid. All of ours did things at different ages
  5. All the girls in our house have short hair .. we like it that way
  6. I find this amusing. If people as much as raise their voice at their kid in public .. someone call the cops. The parent police are always watching. Now the backlash is irritated people because of bratty kids. Well who's to blame ? Parents can't win either way.
  7. My kids don't have cell phones .. no worries here .. at least not this time
  8. Well, we are firm believers in reincarnation. I believe he was visited by his spirit guide However, there are many questions he has. He had a series of 22 dreams in one night. He woke up from each one and wrote them down in a journal. In each dream he was at a different stage in his life, starting from birth up until what we think is the future. He was asked questions in each dream ... most of them questions about moral issues. Such as if you had to take a life, which would you take ? Very serious dreams. In one dream he recognized the voice but not the face and said he felt ver
  9. Agreed .. I LOVE volunteering
  10. Thank You .. I appreciate the info and will be giving her a call
  11. My oldest son has been having some VERY interesting dreams lately. Anyway, I would like for him to see someone to help him interpret them. If anyone knows of a good physic I would love to hear about them.
  12. I've been a stay at home mom for almost 19 years now. I have 6 kids and can't remember what the word bored means. I do have days where I think I would like to do something different. But, then I look at my kids and realize that I am doing the most awesome job in the world. Every job gets old and has it bad days. This job is priceless to me .. I get past the negative days, look back and smile. I also have MANY hobby's. I paint, sew, meditate, I work out every day. I keep my life extremely busy.
  13. We live off one income with 6 kids and it's not that big. We just live simple. We don't do credit cards, unnecessary bills. When people ask me how do you do it ? or you are lucky .. I simply answer .. anyone can do anything if they set their minds to it. It's not about luck .. it's about looking at your life and figuring out what is important to you. I have always put my kids first .. no matter what it took .. because that's whats important to me. Even as a single mom .. I worked nights after my kids went to bed so that I would never have to stick them in daycare. I have always just found a wa
  14. What a blessing he is! My 12 year old slept 18 hours a day after being born. I called him my miracle baby. I was going through a very hard time and needed as much calm as possible. With the sleeping and cuddling .. they are such little blessings. You two are so very fortunate
  15. Ours went down about $60 With the way we live, renting will never be an option. We have too many animals and kids I would rather pay more and be able to live the way I want to.
  16. I've always been a simple person .. same as hubby .. the Jones are something I feel sorry for. People who are concerned about materialistic things are never satisfied with what they have. Not a life that I want for my family. I am very happy that I have children that know the difference between a need and a want.
  17. Wash your animals with original blue dawn ... Sprinkle your carpet with Borax or Salt .. let it sit for awhile and vacuum. Wash everything that you can in your house .. bedding, curtians ect. The Seven stuff doesn't work .. neither do flea bombs or any of that other stuff. 4 dogs, 4 cats, 2 birds, and 2 ferrets ... haven't had a flea in the house in over 3 years
  18. Hubby wants to try them out .. but I'm too chicken .. fast food scares me
  19. In our family it's kidney disease, not renal failure. My mom is now down to one kidney. If that one goes, I will jump at the chance to save her. Now, chances are .. I also will need help down the road. All I can do is hope that someone will help me. If not, then that is fine as well. I could never sit back and not help my mom, just because I am scared about the future. Nobody knows what tomorrow will bring. I would rather live for today. I do understand your fear .. I guess I just tend to worry less about the future and more about today.
  20. Yup, everyone seems to get freaked out when there isn't a pill for everything. Some things just have to be dealt with the old fashioned way
  21. I know I don't do things just because somebody tells me to. I also don't expect my kids to. I find it funny how we demand things from our kids that we wouldn't do ourselves. I wouldn't call it " cool " .. however, I am proud that I raised my kids to think for themselves. I don't expect them to do anything that I wouldn't do myself. My kids are people, not things that I own. They have the right to say yes or no just as much as I do.
  22. Yes, without a doubt. Kidney problems run in our family and sooner or later, I will likely be in the same situation. Do onto others as you would have done onto you.
