  1. We did a tire changing class for homeschool last year .. everyone either helped or watched ... I Just recently learned how It's certainly something that everyone needs to learn.
  2. I have that pic hanging on the wall in my living room
  3. I have noticed those same people that stare, point fingers .. ect. Are also the same ones that come online and complain about kids that don't behave. They seem to have no concept of the word discipline = behaved child They will say " Oh look at that kid not behaving " but the SECOND you try to do something about it .. Oh no, that's child abuse ... extremely hypocritical society we live in.
  4. I would agree with the others .. don't sweat it. With my 6, i've seen so much, that mostly just went away with time. We parents tend to over react about everything. I personally believe the media creates allot of that. As far as his behavior goes .. normal. My kids all changed at around 5 years old. Some sooner .. some a little later. Anyway, I have found that .. What I get at 5, is what I end up with. Some changed for the better, some for the worse .. but so far .. all normal .. if you can define normal lol.
  5. Well, if you eat the bread .. you won't notice the prices
  6. My teenage daughter and I wash our hair with baking soda and rinse it with vinegar and water ... love it.
  7. Yup, as long as there is absolute proof. I'm for going back to the dark ages and having public hangings/ stoneings ... allowing the family members of the victims to have at it.
  8. Maybe they've had a bad day ? / shrug ... I just smile at them and tell them to have a nice day. Sometimes people get so bent around their own little world .. they don't see how it effects others. Maybe some kindness is just what she needed
  9. My 7 year old wants to stay home this year .. she feels she is too old for trick or treating She wants to stay home with the big kids and hand out candy. Yet, my 12 year old is going this year. It depends on the kid. If they show up, dressed up .. I'll be more than happy to give them candy
  10. I know nothing about the man .. other than he's gay ( who cares ) ... nothing to like or dislike. Why on Earth would anyone go out of their way to dislike someone they've never met ? I would never allow what the media has to say .. influence my opinion of someone.
  11. The thing is .. the flu effects everyone differently. Your immune system determines how much it effects you. I've had the flu and never knew it. I thought it was just a cold. That is why it gets spread like it does. If everyone that had it was stuck in bed, it wouldn't get spread around if you get what I'm saying.
  12. I have a teenage son that just hates to shower. He's almost 19, so it's abit harder to force him to. But, anyway, he has an immune system that is just unbelievable. He got pneumonia last year. The only symptom he had was shortness of breathe. It took 3 doctors visits to get a diagnosis .. as they couldn't find anything wrong with him. Anyway, he is living proof of my theory .. Germs build a good immune system. All of us constantly washing our hands .. using anti bacterial wipes ... we're the ones that need to worry. I have always let my kids play in the dirt .. never have been a germoaphobe .
  13. Happy with Wachovia for over 10 years now ...
  14. we have a mild flu ( or something like it ) going through our house right now. Fever, headache, runny nose, coughing. So far, it's only lasted about 3 days and we're able to get past it. We did no medications, no doctors .. just some nice hot tea, tylenol for fevers, and plenty of rest.
  15. Nope we don't turn on heat or air in the months of April, May, Oct, and Nov. It helps give us a breather on our utility bills. We just bundle up or turn on fans ... it won't kill us to throw on a sweater and some slippers
  16. Mine cost $1000 .. and it was something out of a dream We got married in a little ( very old ) chapel in Duluth. They let us get married there for free .. I only had to donate $100 to the chaplin. It was so pretty there. I bought my dress on Ebay for $35 .. the exact dress that I wanted. I also got my daughters flower girl dress for $20 on ebay. I did all of my own silk flowers .. we made all of the favors ourselves .. we did our own catering. I did pay $65 for the wedding cake. For photography we bought 20 disposable cameras and handed them out to people. We got the
  17. I actually don't have many rules .. I don't really need them. My teens are pretty good at governing themselves. Only 2 of them have internet and they can pretty much be on whenever they want to .. however they don't spend much time on it at all. They all go to bed on their own by midnight. They don't use cell phones at all ... and they are all in the house before dark. I've never had many issues with my kids .. but then again .. we are different from most families
  18. We don't even have texting on our phones I think I'm one of the few people left that have no idea how to text even if I could
  19. I always do my homework .. I learned the hard way years ago that doctors are only human. They only know, what they are told. They aren't Gods or above us .. they are simply human. They are constantly being barraged by sales people from the drug industry. They don't have time to investigate each one themselves .. they trust what are told ... which is usually, not very accurate. Sadly, I once was a sheep .. never again.
  20. Nope .. the media loves to sensationalize things. They are doing just as the government hoped they would do. My family will be nobody's guinea pig. I found it interesting when I read that prisoners would be the first to get the vaccines .. I guess they make good test dummies. Many have gotten the swine flu and survived ( the media fails to mention those ) .. the swine flu isn't a death sentence .. however, I'm so sure about the vaccine .. and I refuse to find out.
  21. My older kids are all volunteering for it tomorrow. So far, I haven't received any info about it being canceled. If I do, I'll post it.
  22. I like scary more so than gross. The Silence of the Lambs was probably the most scariest movie, because it was believable and could actually happen. I also love The shining
