  1. My son actually wanted infantry. After he scored insanely high on his Asvab .. and saw all the options open for him .. he changed his mind. He chose to drive those big trucks that launch rockets. He said he didn't want a " desk job ". Sometimes you just gotta let them figure it all out. Scary as it is.
  2. We have 2 kiddo's with severe ADHD. That being said, no medication is used in our house. We manage just fine without meds. I believe it is genetic. Hell, I probably have " some " form of it. I can never find my fricken pens I think we dealt with it the hard way growing up. As my kids are learning to deal with it now. Rather than med them up and let them use it as a crutch.
  3. My oldest daughter does archery ... great arm workout
  4. Yup, nasty sinus bug going around. My kids are just now getting over it. It took about 2 weeks to cycle through it. Mild fever, if any .. and coughing, sneezing, running nose. Upset tummy at times but no vomiting.
  5. Oh, don't do that /heartfailure
  6. My son just recently joined the Army. He was surprised at how many other recruits really didn't know what they had signed up for. He did the future soldier program. So, before he left he got to meet and talk to allot of fellow recruits. He told me, allot of them are in for a nasty surprise. They are often mislead.
  7. My parents both served in Vietnam and Iraq. My father inlaw, Korea. My oldest son is now in the Army. From what I've seen in my life is expectations. When people join the military they need to have a realistic view of what they are getting themselves into. Recruiters go into high school, making promises. Kids join, assuming they will never see combat. They are too busy being blindsided by promises of desk jobs and the GI bill. Not everyone has elders that they can talk to. People who have been there, done that. My son talked to his grandparents .. he educated himself and knew exactly what he w

  9. Exactly and either way .. the pharmaceutical industry profits
  10. I walk a fine line between being a liberal and a conservative. As liberal as I am .. even I can see BS a mile away. Both sides have issues imo. It's a shame they don't have the " think for yourself " label for people.
  11. The Earth is overdue for an enema But we egotistical, I mean smart hoomans will surely be able to stop it. For we are more powerful than God or any other part of nature.
  12. Wow, someone needs to go educate themselves a little more.
  13. Awwwwwwwwwwwwe! I want the hat with mittens.
  14. Yeah, until someone invents virtual coffee ... Oh I wouldn't doubt it lol
  15. My kids refuse to go to a circus. Why would they want to sit and watch animals be mistreated ? Nope not my kids.
  16. Amazon also offers the same books for MUCH lower prices. If you're a student, you get free shipping. You can't really beat it. My mom read those for years. I used to sneak into her room and read them when she was at work.
  17. I'm sure my butt itching is also related
  18. My father inlaw is 80, has a head full of hair .. and has prostate cancer. Now all men with a full head of hair won't bother to get tested and those balding will freak out ... love the media fear.
  19. Even colleges are converting to Ereaders. Text books will soon be obsolete While it will save my daughter a ton of money not having to buy text books for school. This trend sucks, I will miss Borders.
  20. First off, please don't judge an entire country over something that a few bad apples did. I know allot of people in other countries don't like Americans for some of the crap that we do. I hope I'm not judged for something that a guy down the road does. I think considering how many millions of protesters there were .. it went fairly well. I honestly think, had that been here in the US. It would have turned much more violent. Secondly, yeah imo going over there wasn't the best idea. Women shouldn't expect rights in third world countries. This isn't Kansas anymore Totto.
  21. Yup, I'm one of those sucker parents that bought each of their daughters one when they first came out. I paid $40 each! Ouch. On a bright note, that was a few years ago and they still LOVE them ♥
  22. Yes, my kids where helmets lol. Sheesh .. I didn't say I suggested that kids not wear them. I just didn't I go up there about once a month to the recycling center. I'm pretty sure those sidewalks go all the way up to CVS.
