  1. And the toddler's just punishment for being born to crap parents is to be critically injured by the police? While I'm pretty certain there was some piss poor parenting in that house, that does not absolve the police of their obvious negligence in this situation. It just doesn't.
  2. We always cook ours to 140-145 and let rest for 5-10 minutes loosely tented in foil. Give it a shot. If you're used to eating pork cooked to well done, you'll be surprised at how much better the flavor and the taste are when cooked to medium. I think that the USDA even lowered their guidelines from 160 to 145 for internal temps. If you like to cook meat, one of the best investments you can make for the kitchen is a good instant read thermometer ( I really like our Thermapen). No more meat cooked to shoe leather.
  3. I'm not sure. I'll check with my Mom.
  4. My parents are very happy. They are in their early 60's relying solely on my father's income. They went from spending $1,000.00 a month to cover just my father to $600.00 a month to cover both. There are other aspects that are better too, but I can't remember them all. They are not "on the dole" and very happy to have $400.00 extra in the bank every month.
  5. I'm in Texas right now, and they're very popular here. I've had both candied jalapenos and bread and butter jalapenos. It looks like you can order them online from a place called Salsa Express. I have a jar of the Texas Pepper Works brand in my fridge right now and they're very good. I like to throw them on burgers, and when I want a sweet / savory snack, I put them on a cracker with a dab of cream cheese. Good stuff.
  6. The Walking Dead's not back until October, unfortunately.
  7. Closing costs are charged by the lender, not by the state. When you buy a house in Georgia there's a transfer tax paid, based on the sales price, and, if there's a loan, an intangible tax paid at closing. Those fees are mandated by the state. All the other fees are lender fees and attorney fees. Title insurance rates are set by the underwriter of the title insurance policy, again not the state. A purchaser doesn't have to purchase title insurance for himself, but if there's a loan, the lender will require the purchase of a policy to insure the amount of the mortgage.
  8. I hope you never find yourself walking near someone's yard who has the same notion as you!
  9. Henri's in Buckhead made my wedding cake. It was quite tasty!
  10. Recorded in the Paulding County deed records there will be a Deed Under Power. This deed will show who the property sold to and the amount that it was knocked off for.
  11. When African Americans call each other the "N" word, or use it is songs, whatever, it strips the power that it has when a white person calls them the "N" word. In my opinion, it's perfectly acceptable. I truly believe that as the years go by the word will lose all meaning and simply disappear from everyday language. It will become a relic or an artifact. What really bothers me is white people who complain about black people using the "N" word, as if they would really like to be able to use it just as much, but they're somehow not allowed. Let time and history run its course, and b
  12. His mother is an educator with 40 years of classroom experience. She is proud of him, but my guess is that she's not a lazy parent. The kid faced no disciplinary action, and the teacher is on paid administrative leave pending an internal investigation.

    New Auto

I don't have any experience with either models listed above, but if you have A8 cash to burn, and you REALLY like to drive, do yourself a favor and test drive a BMW M5. That's my dream car. You'll get where you're going in a hurry.
