  1. Not only are you a "good" parent, you are an "AWESOME" parent. So many, many parents NEVER accept the fact their child makes mistakes just as we did and still do. It is easier to "pretend" it didn't happen or our child didn't do it, but it's hard to parent! We learn from our mistakes and bad choices. But many, many parents want to blame others for their child's bad choices. Bravo to you and keep up the excellent parenting you are doing now. We are not perfect and neither are they; only one person walks on water, hon. Your child is VERY lucky to have you.
  2. "The Obama administration announced the new federal guidelines last week, saying the government had limited resources for deporting and detaining illegal immigrants and must focus on expelling violent criminals and those who pose threats to national security. THIS is what confuses me! The "resources" he speaks of are being drained because of illegal immigrants, among other things. AND the "violent crimes" are being committed by many of these illegal immigrants. WTH?
  3. Yes, amen, it is. LOVE it, and my grandchild is 19 now. HOWEVER, I am not ready to be a GREAT grandparent yet!
  4. Boy is this not the truth; however, WE, as parents, must have our children in seat belts, BUT the country can put our kids on busses with NO seat belts! And, from what I hear, some have to "squeeze" into seats meant for 2! PRAYERS AND MORE PRAYERS FOR THIS BABY AND HIS FAMILY!
  5. SEVIN dust. I treat my yards with that every spring and never have a problem. I have 2 dogs and my granddaughter's cat.
  6. Hummmm, are you using your flying monkeys now?
  7. Wow, this is so depressing and sad. Many more will come illegally now. I do not EVEN want to begin to think about the next 5 years and where this country will be financially. Guess we can look at Mexico because that is the way we will be living soon -- Drug wars, poverty and violence.
  8. From what I have read (and naturally NOT from her complaint), she was driving recklessly, he pulled her over, she had no license, and THAT is where his suspicions began that she was illegal. Is that not what our officers are for? I HAVE TO PRODUCE A LICENSE. If I had not produced a license, I am SURE he would have become suspicious of me too that something is wrong and would have ran my tag to see if I had anything outstanding that would cause me NOT to produce my license. They have caught murders on traffic stops because they are trained right, but we seem to want to tie their hands and n
  9. I do know my insuance company was in touch with her about the restitution; however, the last I heard, her number and address had changed, and they could not locate her.
  10. Yes, it was in downtown Atlanta. She had an insurance card, but when no one called me, I called her insurance, and they said it had expired 3 months earlier. I thought the cops had this info in their computers now. Thanks, and I will check on that suggestion, but it has been 3 years now, so there may be too late.
  11. I so agree with you, NC. I have always taken care of myself and made sure the future is taken care of. And it sometimes does make me ill that there are so many, many people that don't take care of themselves because I think many (and I didn't say all) of them know that others will jump in and save them. I see it on the news all the time. Like the lady that hit my car. She didn't have insurance and made the remark that my insurance would take care of it. Yep, after I paid the $1,000 deductible, my insurance did. Didn't cost her a thing except for a ticket for failure to yeild. AND the
  12. WOW, if I lived in New York, I would march against this or get on the internet and flash mob! This hurts to think that the people who lost AND saved lives of loved ones are omitted. JUST WOW!
  13. There was an earthquake in Virginia! 5.2 I believe.
  14. ILLEGAL is the key word; nothing else matters. Number one, she is illegal, so she should have NO rights. When I do something ILLEGAL, I go to jail. ILLEGAL should NOT EVEN be here. THAT'S IT! I am so tired of working hard and then worrying about MY money that I have given the government to take care of us NOT being available when I finally get to retire. God help us all. Oh, I forget, God is even trying to be taken out of our lives.
  15. Just flying to Florida, and they do not require it so rather than throw away $150 which I do not have, I believe I am going to take my chances. It irritates me that the vet has just 2 months ago given her shots and exam ($190 worth), that I would have to do it AGAIN. Thanks for the info though.
  16. Has anyone flown Delta with their pet lately? I have, but it has been a while. I get differing answers when I call Delta. From my latest experience and the website, she can fly (in a pet carrier) with me for a charge of $125 and does not need a health certificate. I KNOW if she goes cargo, you must have the health certificate, but I would NEVER put her in cargo. She just had all her shots and exam 2 months ago, but to get a health certificate (just in case because one agent said she does need one), I would have to pay $75 here and coming home again. The website says no health certificate
  17. I'm 65, and I won't go out and play -- I'm skeered too!
  18. RUN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  19. What a friend you have in Fred! Just glad you don't have to sleep with him!
  20. Not from a culture that needs super hero outfits, and "mad" has many forms, and my culture doesn't teach me to go out with guns and mean and ugly words and "super hero outfits" to make a change. NOT my kind of mad. However, I am and have been actively involved in groups that care and we do not do it illegally or with violence. Just don't have any more cheeks to turn. I am a very peaceful person and would love to live again in peace one day, but do not see that happening, but it's is worth a try. Yep saw that and had the same reaction. I have worked 2 jobs most of my life and have
  21. :drinks: And getting "mad" about crime does help because it makes us want to ban together and fight for our right to be crime free. Much like many other groups and make a difference! I'm mad too about not being able to live fear free. Poverty is no excuse for these problems. Katrina did hurt us and all surrounding states. Even during Katrina these same kind of people took the advantage of the storm and stole anything and everything in every store in NOLA. There are pictures and videos of that, but some will make excuses for that too.
