I agree completely. I saw this story last night and was *infuriated* with the NON-story and the mother's attitude. Something tells me that there's no father in this picture and that this misguided woman has made her son her world. She may think she's raising a MAN, but she's really raising a THUG.

You have a lot of which to be proud. You have reared your son to work hard for what he wants and he has taken those lessons to heart. Ultimately, he'll be a LOT better off in life with that attitude. Bless you both and GOOD LUCK to him as he moves towards graduation!

If passing the graduation test is STILL a requirement for graduation, then Paulding County is doing what's right and those other counties are the ones that have caved.

I equate the graduation ceremony with the receipt of a diploma. Period. I'm sorry your daughter didn't pass the graduation test - it sounds as if she truly tried. But if she isn't graduating, and isn't collecting a diploma at this time, she doesn't deserve to walk with those who have completed the requirements.

I am SO glad to see that there is someone else who hates 'hubby' as much as I do! Likewise 'hubs' - gaaah! As for 'You're welcome' vs. 'No problem,' I use both and am just grateful that I have occasion to do so - thanks from strangers are becoming rarer and rarer.

Any guy who would tell the MOTHER of *his* children 'You're not my mother, why should I do anything for you?' is one sorry excuse of a man. If it's any comfort to any of you moms out there, the next time your child (whether s/he's 3, 13 or 30) does something sweet for you, even if it's just an unexpected compliment or call or hug, remember to tell yourself 'Happy Mother's Day.' Maybe it will help.

I don't pay any creditor using *their* proprietary auto-pay system - I use my credit union's e-pay. I made the necessary changes to my GreyStone account on that and had no problem. I think I'd forget about e-mailing and go straight to the office.
