  1. My advice is to find the cheapest gas prices in the area using websites such as GasBuddy, MSN Autos Gas Prices, MapQuest Gas Prices. A Google search for gas prices will give you more websites. From Clark Howard: Jun 12, 2008 -- Are gas rebate credit cards a deal? Gas rebate credit cards are hot right now. Is that any surprise? We're all shell-shocked by prices at the pump and the promise of HUGE rebates sounds great. But beware that these offers may only be good for a couple of weeks or months. For example, BP has one heavily advertised offer for a card that gives you 10% back
  2. Wow, that is pretty amazing video! The YouTube page includes a statement from the National Weather Service. This happened on January 7, 2008 in North Illinois. "The tornado then moved across the Chicago and Northwestern railroad where it blew 12 railroad freight cars off the track. The train was moving at the time the tornado hit it...so as the main engine stopped...the remaining cars on the track continued along it and slammed into the front part of the train. This caused a few more cars to derail...including one containing hazardous materials that caused the evacuation of the town of
  3. It's okay if you like only American-style light lager. Not everyone can appreciate a beer with body and flavor A neighbor recently gave me a bottle of Royal Extra Stout that I thoroughly enjoyed. He said it is like Guinness, but I was surprised how sweet it is. Royal Extra Stout is to Guinness how sweet tea is to unsweetened tea. As for Sweetwater Brews, my favorite is the October-December seasonal Festive Ale (while looks just like Guinness)
  4. I haven't watched TV in a while, but I can't stand that stupid Quiznos $5 song commercial on the radio.
  5. Ah, now I understand your comment on Facebook about missing Pcom and wishing it was still around. Oh, and now I know why something looked a little off. I forgot that my membership just expired.
  6. Actually, no it wasn't explained. At least not so that someone completely unaware of what you were talking about could understand. My interest in the thread waned after skimming through 30 posts and still no explanation of "parkinlotted", however my interest was renewed as I wondered if you'd have something to say for me.
  7. I knew this was gonna be a guy/girl thing "Unlike air conditioners, fans only move air -- they do not directly change its temperature." "The breeze created by a ceiling fan speeds the evaporation of perspiration on human skin, which makes the body's natural cooling mechanism much more efficient. Since the fan works directly on the body, rather than by changing the temperature of the air, during the summer it is a waste of electricity to leave a ceiling fan on when no one is in a room." http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ceiling_fan
  8. I suppose then it would be pointless to ask how the ceiling fan would prevent the A/C from coming on? LOL funny way to insinuate the quantity of candles on the birthday cake
  9. I've always thought it is ridiculous that the mailing isn't delivered any earlier than a day or two before the food drive. However, there was an ad on the front of the blue Valpak that was delivered last week. I think that delivering the grocery bag with the ad on it has increased participation, probably because it gets more attention when people wonder why there is a plastic grocery bag in their mailbox. A local organization comes to the post office on Saturday afternoon to pickup the collected food and deliver it to the local charity.
  10. If you pay through PayPal, you are typically setup to automatically renew. If I remember correctly, this is an option that you would have to opt out of during the payment process (or can later cancel in your PayPal account transaction settings.) There have been vents in the past from people displeased that their membership was automatically renewed because they either forgot or didn't notice that it would automatically be renewed. I think it might be in Recurring Payments
  11. I've had magicJack for two or three years now, but haven't used it in probably a year. VOIP is just too iffy IMHO. I don't know if it was the service or my Internet connection, but call clarity was unreliable. Sometimes it would be crystal clear, sometimes I had to hang up and call back on my cell phone. I got it after hearing Clark Howard rave about it, but last I heard, he recommends Ooma now.
  12. I think it is a very good marketing campaign. I especially like the heart tattoo/patch being sewn onto the sock monkey. Kia certainly has changed things from being known for a bare-bones car to currently having fully-loaded models rivaling the top sellers in the market. I came very close to purchasing a new Kia Forte Koup last summer but came to my senses and bought a used car instead.
  13. You can pay Hiram tickets online at http://www.hiramtix.com and Paulding County tickets at http://paulding.payyourtix.com I recently went to the Hiram municipal court but I had to pay the fine in cash or money order. I thought it was odd that I could pay with a credit card online but not in person at court.
  14. Yeah, I liked the episode last week with the CEO of Waste Management. It came on right after the Super Bowl and I didn't get up from my chair.
  15. Mail is normally brought to my post office from the Atlanta plant early in the morning, with all mail usually arriving by 5:30. Distribution clerks process and sort most of the mail before the carriers come in. On Saturday, the truck didn't arrive until after 10:30. It was almost 2 PM when I left to start my route, and fortunately all the snow and ice had melted from the roads by then. I expect Tuesday and Wednesday to be long days with lots of mail. 2010 Postal Holidays Friday, January 1 - New Year's Day Monday, January 18 - Martin Luther King Jr's Birthday Monday, February
  16. Anybody wanting a flashback of how P'com has looked over the years, check this out: http://web.archive.org/web/*/http://www.paulding.com
  17. TMKONA29M is correct I was driving North on Hwy 92 toward Hiram in the rain on Thursday evening. As I came down the hill by the cemetery, I saw a dog trotting on the side of the road. I swerved left to avoid it but hit a second dog that was in the middle of the road and saw it fly across the other side of the road into the ditch. When I turned around and drove back, I didn't see either dog. It was dark and raining, so I wasn't going to get out and get hit myself while looking for the dog. I went back during the day on Friday but didn't find a dead dog nor the missing grilles
  18. This is the most popular flash mob video that I know of: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jwMj3PJDxuo There was also a flash mob for the Black Eyed Peas' appearance on Oprah http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CttB6FmMgT4
  19. I don't know about pizza in Paulding County, but I LOVE Savage Pizza in Little Five Points. I go there every chance I get, often with a certificate from Restaurant.com I went to Little Five Points Pizza a few weeks ago when Savage Pizza had just closed early for the night and really enjoyed the pizza we had. I went to Westside Pizzeria the other night and am looking forward to going back again. The 1/2 Cajun, 1/2 Greek Chicken pizza I ordered was really good, however I did think that the crust could be better.
  20. Are pet owners responsible for damage to others' property? Specifically, if a dog goes into the middle of a road and gets hit by a car, can the dog owner be held responsible for damages to the car?
  21. Sounds like you have spyware on your computer. Another good anti-spyware/anti-malware program is Ad-Aware Free If you get the broken link page, try using a different browser as the malware may be affecting only that browser.
  22. One of my relatives works at the Douglasville Wal-Mart. The only time they ever close is 6 PM on Christmas Eve through 6 AM on the day after Christmas.
