We had a terrible problem 2004, 2005 into 2006. I was on a board with Bruce Coyle, one of the county engineers over at the water department. I complained because after both the kids had moved out, our bill was still $40 to $80 per month. And, I would check the meter periodically, right after the meter-reader, and would have to move mud off the dial to read it. We would read it when we left town, and it would be exactly the same when we returned so we knew there were no leaks. Bruce kept telling the the meters were designed in such a way that if it was faulty, it would be to our favor, n

I have said over and over I am not a supporter of the bill currently under consideration in congress. I am in favor of a public option affordable to the average Joe the plumber along the lines of medicare/medicage. Hell, let the government contract out a public option to one of more of the existing insurance companies and run it as a private business like Wellstar, as a "Not for Profit" concern but offering an affordable coverage even if it is not super-duper premium insurance with all the bells and whistles. This would give the private stock hell for profit companies some serious competi -

As long as the medical insurance industry is operated as a for profit enterprise they are going to screw the customer. Most insurepip spend as much or more administrative dollars on finding loopholes so they don't have to pay or reduce the payments than they do on actually processing claims. Most other countries limit what the Big Pharma's can make profit margin wise on life care drugs. They can make whatever they want on Viaga, Cialis, Sleep meds [Ambien, etc.] but cumadin, lipitor, etc. have a government mandated allowable margin. Hence why meds are so much cheaper in Canada and Mex -

My comments in another thread about our SHODDY healthcare system was not a slap at the medical quality issues, it was a slap at the fact the insurance companies dictate what the actual total heathcare quality is. Such as not allowing preventive care.....not allowing wellness annual physicals....an so forth. As for care I have been provided I have absolutely no complaints. I come from a family with primarily 3 generations of physicians and dentists. I was fortunate to grow up in an environment where virtually all family friends name began with a Dr. Hence, I always had great care and it -

Wait until you get over 50 and are not able to participate in a large group policy. When we shut down our business and sold it off, I became a commissioned sales/technical consultant. From some of the companies I work with I get a monthly retainer plus incentives, from others I get only commissions or paid for specific jobs. I do not qualify as a full time employee with any of them in so far as being able to participate in their insurance programs. For 30+ years I had coverage through my job. BCBS, United, etc., and at no time was I ever not covered. When we bought our first individual -
As I recall, the fox squirrels tend to stay to the ground and live in burrows instead of nests in the trees, and are considerably larger than the greys.

Ah yes, the blizzard of 1993. Thursday it was 70.....Friday it turned a bit cooler and ugly. Saturday morning we awoke to a FOOT of snow on the ground and no power for days. Don't make such rash predictions please.

Wrong! Actually the bald eagle tend to dine on carrion....the remnents of critters which another predator left laying around or an animal that simply died. Right....they compete with vultures for the remains other animals have left behind. The turkey, per Ben Franklin's suggestion, would have been unique as they are indeginous only to North America and Mexico. And they are actually one of the most cunning birds out there. Ask a turkey hunter just how difficult they are to kill. The bald eagle is a beautiful bird, but hunting other animals is not its forte. Dining off of the remains i

I am fine with the Thrasher. Chicken is the #1 Agri Business in the State and that should suffice.

I hate to see the bashing. We have been seeing Dr Wehunt for 25+ years and will miss him. We always found him to be a very thorough although conservaite physician. And generally his office staff was very caring and seemed to do their best to take care of you. Granted, his bedside manner could at times be short, but I have nothing but compliments for the treatment we received. We will miss him and Debbie alot. Anyone have any good recommendations for a replacement ? I hate breaking in another doctor.

Kim Cobb comes on the site often. I have not really kept up that much as we have no kids in school anymore. And Gary Gulledge, I believe, makes Cpl Gurley available to Pubby and P.com when necessary or beneficial. Shearin took many of us for a ride, using p.com very much to his advantage when he ran in 2004. I am sorry Sibley, Stout, and Cash have not been on more. I gave up trying to listen to the debate on my computer....the audio was just too choppy. -
Both of our kids are bilingual. They attended a language school in Cuernavaca Morelos Mexico the summers when they were 14, 15, and 16. Daughter ended up as a courtroom translator for several years and is married now to a young man from Mexico. She is more fluent in Spanish than English. Son can still carry on conversations in Spanish but really does not use his anything like his sister does. I can speak Spanish, and do OK with my customers on anything technical, but I cannot conjugate properly.

I see this as a tool to get hits on unsolved cases, especially rape, where they have a collected DNA sample but no match to it. If it were to allow LE to re-open old cases when they get a match, they I see it as a good process. \ Same is done now for fingerprints lifted from crimescenes. They are cross matched to new arrest fingerprints and occaisionally LE gets lucky and gets a match allowing them to go after the arrestee for additional cases.

Ate there a couple of times because of a group I was with. Not impressed at all......an Italian food joint with no veal.....seafood was worse. Industrial food with mediocre quality at its best in my humble opinion. Wine was nothing to brag on either.

Marta is $3 and includes the GRTA transfer. If you have a Breeze card it is simple to reload it and get on. If not I think you have to pay $0,50 for the card. It is free to go from the rental car return back into the terminal at the Airport to catch Marta. There is a new rail system in operation from the rental returns. I suggest the Civic Center Station as it is just a stop or 2 further, but a much shorter walk from the train to where the buses run. You simply go up stairs to street level, and cross the street to where the buses will be line up. They start at like 3:00pm and run every 15

If you come in anytime after 2:00 at the airport, you can take the Marta train to 5 points, or the civic center station [if you have a bunch of luggage] and catch either the 470 or 477 to Movies 278 for $3.00. I suggest the civic center station for luggage because it is a haul from getting off the train at 5 points to where you catch the buses. At the civic center station, you come up the escalator or elevator and walk across the street for you bus and the driver will help you load it underneath in the storage compartments.

It not only depends on the soil, but also the amount of sunlight. Not enough can be just as detrimental as too much. Full afternoon sun will kill Camillas dead, while Gardenias have to have it. Gardenias without full sun will not bloom. They may live OK, but no blooms. Camilias like filtered sun. I have one on the south side of my house, espaliered against the house and the end of the courtyard which is 20+ feet tall and has been there for 20 years. I also have the remains of 75' or so of hardwood forest between the big camilia and the sun to the south and west. Azaleas also prefe

How far from the nearest Marta Rail Station to where your office would be? The Hiram Bus will get you to 5 Points Station in 45 minutes or so. Cost wise, no matter how you look at the time, The GRTA Bus/Marta are a no brainer. Uncle is allowing more than $0.50 a mile so you need to figure a 75 mile round trip in your car will actually be costing you about $37.50. You can get a GRTA/Breeze for like $90 a month. And you can use laptops etc. on the bus part of the trip, not to mention no road rage issues.

To the thugs that busted up our mailbox on Sat. night
surepip replied to JBrigman's topic in RECENT TOPICS
Years ago our road ended with a cul-de-sac 300 feet or so past our house. It was a popular spot at night and often when departing the cars would take off and slam our mailbox with a bat or other object. Poor old thing was just beat to hell. We would pick it up and set it back and it would be 25 yards down the street several days later. We had a metal fabrication businessI mentioned this to my shop manager. A couple of weeks later he told me he had me a new mailbox and to show them where I wanted it. He had fabricated a solid steel box out of 1/4" thick steel plate, with a cut-out in th -
We thought it was a good game, period. The Saints were a good team. They beat the Falcons twice, handily. They had never been to the Super Bowl in their 43 years and they went all the way this year. I did not see where anyone handed them anything. Looked to me like they made their own destiny, took advantage when opportunities presented themselves and they won the game. Go Saints.

Mine is a registered trademark I have had for my hatchery equipment business for the past 28 years. Pip is the latin verb for when a bird starts to chip the shell in order to hatch. It is also the latin noun for any fowl when they have first hatched....they are a pip. When they fluff out the next day they are refered to as a chick or a poult, duckling, gosling, etc. As a business trademark, using the american slang "sure", it translates into virtually all languages as well. -
The MRs and I were on an American Airlines flight home from Lima, Peru which was to leave at like 9:00pm. They kept pushing the time back 30 minutes, and then about midnight canceled the flight. Great. I did some checking around and found out the incoming flight had to return to Miami, and no other flight was available until the morning. They had purposely stalled us until after the Delta 11:30 flight had departed so as to not have to provide us a ride home on thier nickle on Delta. I got to thinking and realized the morning flight would be mostly full, and we were probably going t

Too bad CBS did not take advantage of what could have been a great PR move for them and offer the Public Service Announcement during the Super Bowl at a reduced rate, or free. We miss our on too much Federal Funding and grants as it is [Did anyone see what Georgia is getting for rapid rail development versus what Florida and North Carolina and others are getting ?]. With our increase in population both in Paulding, and in Georgia over the past 10 years this census will be extremely important for us. We should end up with a 3rd state legislator for Paulding and several seats in congress

Don't go any thinner than 18gauge. My shop worked in thicker metal, and my backsplashes and hood are 14 and 16 gauge, based on what we had available. If you dink it while installing 18 or 20 gauge, the dink will show later. We also ran the backsplash to below where the tiled countertops were going to be and used a silicone grout joint where they joined. -

My counter tops are porcelien tile with stainless steel backsplashes and a stainless steel hood with a commercial variable speed exhaust fan up on the roof. We love them and they are so easy to maintain, not to mention they look good as well. But at the time we redid our kitchen 12-14 years ago I owned an equipment/machine fabrication business. All of my stuff was built in my shop time permitting with other jobs. There is a commercial kitchen fabricator in the industrial park where the Sheriff's office is. Lane Mechanical / Randy'Sheetmetal. But they will cost you dearly.....
