14 Gauge "Lamp Cord" is what we used to run in the old days for speaker runs with the larger speaker systems back then. As I recall, it does not hurt to go too big, but it can damage the amp if you go too small. You may want an SO rating on the jacket if you are going to bury it.

You will come out much better by forming an llc or an inc, and invoicing your "customers". The workman's comp Curtis gets you, plus other expenses including your travel then would be deductible and you should be able to end up pretty much tax free except FICA on what ever you pay your self as a salary.

I click on it several times a day just to get a chuckle. And it works. I can see where you might find it enlightening as well.

I was against the BOE School Bond in that I wanted the RBMDs to have to pay at least half. Not against the money for building the schools, but against it being placed 100% on the homeowners....again. I supported the SPLOSTs though, both of them, [the BOE will also have a SPLOST renewal next year or the following year], even though King Jerry was in charge. To me it is the trade off to not having any industrial/manufacturing tax base, yet needing the infrastructure. For me and my family, we really don't use the Parks to speak of. We have our own park in a sense around our house, and

I guess I should have tried to trademark RBMD huh ? But, unfortunately for Paulding that is the root of our economic woes. Not only did we have 12+ years of Anti-industry on top of years of isolationism, they made it even harder for industrial businesses to locate here. As a result, we have a residential tax base which cannot cover the cost of providing the myriad of services those living in the houses require and/or expect. Without the SPLOST we are going to handcuff the Sheriff's Department, keep an antiquated 911 service patched together, kill the Hiram Parkway and forfeit the state

In a nutshell, the ROBBER BARON MEGA DEVELOPERS and the political puppets. The puppets were elected with wads and wads of RBMD money. Those downtown went hard to work, and got new laws put into place making it virtually impossible for a local government to make the RBMDs pay for the infrastructure needed to go with their High Denisity Housing Developments [can you say PRD] which came about because the puppets changed the state zoning laws as well. And the puppets changed the banking laws, making it easy for local upstart banks to be created to loan money to the various strawment and pr

County Woes, Candidates, & Citizens Responsibilities
surepip replied to mevans_70's topic in Paulding County NEWS
In essence they are paid the $17k for 3-1/2 months of part time work, plus living expenses from mid-January until the end of April. It requires someone who is either wealthy/self sufficient, or who has a business which they can run by phone/email part time. And I have to assume some of them take the job for what they can rape and pillage, not the paycheck. -
Braley, Taylor Farm, and Mt Tabor are all county parks. Best of my knowledge the last thing Parks & Rec wants to do is abandon any of the parks. But if they have no operation equipment to maintain them with, and no budget [sPLOST] to buy equipment, what choice will they have ? The original SPLOST did indeed provide funding to the various Ruritan run parks. As I remember it was a good chunk of change to each one. I did not see any wording in the new SPLOST for the Ruritan Parks though.
-
I didn't. Right now, they are spending a great deal of time doing maintenance on worn out equipment just to keep it operational as they cannot afford to buy replacements. They failed to put in for new equipment in the last SPLOST. No tractors = no lawn cutting at ball fields.

This one just seems to keep going from bad to worse. All fishing in the NE Gulf has been halted. Volunteers are lining up to help. BP admits it may take 90 days or more to stop the flow of oil, and that they were not prepared for the scenario they have been faced with. As I said last week, get your Appilachacola oysters while you can. There won't be any again for years, if ever. This disaster is now in the process of totally wiping out the fishing, shrimping, and tourist industry from Louisiana to the entire west coast of Florida. And now they are warning us it can escape

Daughter and son in law took us to Brunch today at Jim & Nicks [and we had Surepip Jr waiting on us] so, I guess we will wait till tomorrow evening to roast the goose on the rotisserie. The bird is pre-steamed and ready to cook, but will hold for several days if necessary. Tonight may just be a couple of Gin and tonics with a twist cause we are still FULL from Brunch.

The SPLOST we are voting on this summer is for PDOT, The Sheriff's Department, Parks & Rec, and a portion to Dallas, Hiram, and a Fiber Optics Proposal I can't seem to find out anything about. I don't think we have the school SPLOST vote again until next year or the following year, although I may be in error. Non-renewal of this SPLOST will primarily effect: The DOT will have to stop all new work on the Hiram Parkway, and we will forfeit the matching State and Federal monies. It will just go elsewhere. If we don't pay out part, they don't match. In addition, many other road pro

Right out of the garden. Romaine, bibb, escarole, curly endive, arugula, mesclune, oark leaf, red, and some others. The older volunteers from last year's seeds are starting to bolt, but the rest should hang in there till we get in the high 80s for a week or more.

Paulding: The race is on for DA, State Senate and GA House

BB, you are the one twisting the words. She did not say "associated with Obama"....those were your words. She said "In the same party with Obama". Now, I may not be a rocket scientist, but Obama is a Dem. So by saying anyone in the same party with Obama translates for me, "Any Democrat", which is exactly what I said in the first place. And I personnally am incredulous that someone would indeed knowingly vote for a sub-standard candidate purely because they are a Republican and NOT vote for a Democrat who might well be the better candidate, just because the chose to put that "D" -
Raccoon Creek at the Silver Comet trail is open, but it is a good 45 minute ride, and too far to walk.

Ended up with Brats steamed in beer, with cole slaw, brunswick stew from the larder, and garden salad [i used my brunswick stew for salad dressing with some hot sauce]. I steamed the goose to cook on the rotisserie tomorrow and reduced all the fat for later.

Freezer leftovers for tonight, and a big garden salad. We have romaine, arugula, bibb, escarole, endive, oak leaf, red, mesclun, spinach, and some others I can't name which were volunteers from a package of Spring Mix Mesclune from last years lettuce bed. But I am steaming a goose tonight, to cook on the rotisserie tomorrow afternoon. I steam them for 5-6 minutes a side to pre-cook them a bit, and to render off some of the fat, which we use in the deep fat fryer. Goose fat and Duck fat are WONDERFUL to fry with. Got a butterflied leg of lamb aging the garage fridge for later in the wee

Paulding: The race is on for DA, State Senate and GA House

Here you go: Nuff said ? You never know. This Will Avery may be smart enough to have realized with the uphill battle he has as a newcomer, to run as a Dem, with no opposition, relieves him of any big deal in the primaries. He can simply concentrate on November, get his name and message out there, and hope there are enough voters who do not care if it is an "R" or a "D", and come up smelling like roses. Look what the "R"s have fielded. Can you pick someone you want to represent you out of the 3? -
When the water restrictions were put on several summers back, I simply ran a PVC drainline down the wall behind the washer, and through the floor, turned 90 degrees, and drilled a hole through the concrete block. We have a courtyard garden area which has 2 100+ gallon Goldfish/Koi ponds. One right next to the house which collected the water from a chain waterfall which ran from a sump with a pump downstream from the pond, back up to the work sink on our upstairs deck, and back down the chains to the pond. I disconnected the waterfall pump, and ran the PVC drainline right into the pon

Paulding: The race is on for DA, State Senate and GA House

So how would I be wrong? I said the Posse would not vote for anyone with a "D" next to their name, and you even agreed, reiterating you would not vote for a Dem no matter what. -
I a bit miffed, and pissed off because my Red Snapper, Grouper, Mackeral, and Snook fishing trip next month will be canceled. And it will be canceled for I am afraid many years to come. Just seems to be a damn sorry-ass way to learn first hand how dangerous deepsea offshore drilling is.

Rational logic, as per you, is absurd. No, we don't need to go back to the horse and buggy days. But at the same time it is evident with a tiny % of the world's population we consume 25% of the energy. The rest of the developed world has indeed learned to use far less oil per capita that we do. No, the $5 a gallon tax would not be a one time bite, but it is pretty much what the rest of the developed world did to encourage conservation, and it worked. The EEC is now fighting us on poultry imports partially because they claim by not taxing fuel in the US, we are in essence subsidizing the fo

MrsSurepip rides the GRTA bus from Movies 278 to her job with the Ag Department 5 days a week. She has been riding it for 4 years now. I take the GRTA bus to Marta, to the Airport when I have to fly. When I am driving to visit customers, I rent a car which gets better mileage than my antique roadster. I would like one of the new "smart cars", and am especially fond of the one Mercedes is offering. I would use rail if we had it. When in Europe, 99% of my travel is by rail. And we take conservation to our other projects whenever possible. Our Clothes washer and upstairs shower drain
