Why don't you call Sheriff Gary Gulledge and ask him his take on ICE? He says TRUE! But like I said earlier, your buddy Jason apparently wants to tell the Sheriff's office how to run the department while taking away funding at the same time. ?????

OK. we put in an outdoor shower in our enclosed courtyard on the South side of the house. Tiled nicely, secluded, and we can shower there when we come in from hours of nasty yardwork without having to track the grass cuttings etc. in through the house. We put in a NOT inexpensive wall mount water heater to supply hot water for the shower.\ The heating element in the water heater toasted the other day. Drained it, removed the element and took it to the depot. I found an absoulte none caring worker whose attitude was "hey, we sell the water heater, but not the replacement elements".

From where I sit, the county getting involved in the Federal ICE program is a no-win deal. We spend money rounding up an occaisional illegal and then IF the Feds want him we turn him over. But we have to dedicate like 6 officers a day to this program and pay their costs. Is it worth it financially...? I don't see it.
-
And maybe save the county a couple of thousand dollars here and there by asking those questions. Tommie has been a breath of fresh air on the BOC and needs to stay in office.

Jason is stating he wants to see another $500,000 cut out of the budget, and you want to had more deputies and vehicles and equipment ONLY to try to find illegals ? I ask again, how are you planning to fund this ? Has Jason discussed this brilliant plan with our duly elected Sheriff to see what he thinks ? What do you and Jason really know about the ICE program, how it works, what it costs, and how many illegals they round up ?
-
This is, I am afraid, political grandstanding by Jason Anivitarte. The ICE program he wants us to join up with will do very little for us based on the number of hispanic arrests going through our court system. And, I have a question for Jason: You want another $500,000 cut out of the county budget as it is. Just how are you going to fund dedicated ICE officers ? Are you suggesting we do similar to Cobb and pull 2 to 4 officers, PER SHIFT, off their current duties and assign them to ICE ? Or are you suggesting funding new positions ? ICE officers must be dedicated to just doing

I am only guessing, but I would bet they want to change now as the liberty bell stamps will still be good for mailing even at the new rate.

AND, you got a free steak knife with a fill-up. I still have some of those steak knives. Going to the Farmers & Merchants Feed/Seed store, getting a 6oz coke out Chest Coke machine with the lift up lid, and then comparing what bottling plant was on the bottom of the coke. Furthest away had to buy the cokes.

Why does the County and City of Dallas Ignore Presidential Order?

Why does the County and City of Dallas Ignore Presidential Order?

Truett Cathy with Chick Fillet chose to lower his store's flags. Too bad out local government's couldn't. It is just a matter of respect for someone who had tendered a life service to our country. Like him or not, he worked hard for his constituents for half a century and is entitled to a modicum of respect. When Richard Russell died in the early 1970s the country honored him as well and he was from Mr Byrd's generation of Dixiecrats. I think most of y'all are missing the point, but because of the RABID Partisan politics today it becomes irrelevant. Mr Byrd, like him or not, is -
Why does the County and City of Dallas Ignore Presidential Order?
surepip replied to stercus tauri's topic in RECENT TOPICS
No, you are not REQUIRED to, just as you are not REQUIRED to doff your hat to a passing funeral procession or hold your hand over your heart during the pledge of allegiance. But doing so is a sign of respect. And yes, D or R Byrd is due some respect for his years in Congress. And yes again, the flag always goes to half mast for a president who has passed away. Even Tricky Dicky got that one, as will W, Daddy Bush, Carter and Clinton when their day comes. -
Paulding County Property Owners, Renters and Vistors

Depending on how much your property tax assessment went down, you will be paying that much less on your property taxes this fall. Ours fell by 25%. Even if the BOC were to raise the millage rate by 1 mill or so, you would still see a substantial savings over last year. PDOT is getting around the same percentage as last time. Public Safety is getting substantially more than last time. Parks and Rec is getting almost half of what they got last time. Remember this is for 6 years, and they have to list everything possible they want to use it on up front. All expenditures still hav -
But you can grow some nasties on dinner plates and utensils etc, not properly cleaned. Back in the late 1990s/early 2000s we were doing a great deal of lab testing on hatching eggs coming out of a machine we built to clean and sanitize them. Just for the hell of it we swabbed alot of common stuff around the house and were amazed with how much stuff came back with TNC [too numerous to count] from the lab. I have my water heater set at 140, and I have an option on my dishwasher to further heat the water up to close to boiling. If you put in the clear hard plastic containers with screw off

Cruise Planners Tips About Cities Around The World
surepip replied to 4URCRUISE's topic in Business NEWS
I guess we are lucky on the Hotel Sint Nickolus. An Aussie friend first introduced me to them 20+ years ago. The convenience is being SO close to the Central Station, and being able to take the KLM bus to and from Schipol. When we are in Amsterdam, we are normally attending the VIV Poultry Exposition in Utrecht. To stay in Utrecht during VIV will cost you $200+ a night. The Sint Nickolus is like $75. The train tickets to Utrecht on a week pass is less than $30 so it is a big savings. And the Central Station in Utrecht is across the street from the Fairgrounds where the VIV show is held. T -
I believe this shows Jason did qualify to run as a Democrat. registration And if you review all 6 of the campaign disclosures filed from March 2006 through January 2007, after the election, he collected $17,500 in donations, but never reported where they came from. He paid back his loans to the campaign, but nothing shows where the money came from.
-
So Jason dropped out before the race was over, but chose to NOT disclose where his $17,500 in campaign money came from ? He shows paying back personal loans, but not with money he disclosed where it came from ???

Paulding: The race is on for DA, State Senate and GA House

Vote Pandering is all it is for, but if that is what floats their boat then so be it. And SCOTUS is going to overturn Roe v Wade when ? -
Dishwasher ONLY. I am a bug-a-phobe and I want my dishes washed thoroughly with 212F water. I hand wash my good knives and the silver when we use it. Sheets, towels, jeans, and khakis hang on the clothes line off the upstairs deck, along with throw rugs, mats, etc. Grey water from the clothes washer goes into a 100 gallon fish pond [no fish in it] and we water yard plants using a pump. We have a metal roof, with a sprinkler system for hot days. Electric ice cream unit.....ain't got time to sit and crank it.
-
And so they don't have to show where their funds are coming from until the last minute.

Gulf shrimp boiled in Old Bay seasoning. Garden salad with some store-bought romaine and little garden green beans. With fresh Maters of course. Gin and Tonic for the heat.

Yes, we could close out a month, or a quarter on the day we ended it. It was all on the computer and running reports was a relatively simple deal. Pownall and Barnett have both filed. So what is the problem with all the others filing "timely" instead of waiting until the last day ?
-
That is an exceptional deal and I will also caution you that chicken prices are going to be going up. For the past 4 months US Poultry has been blocked from Russia. Obama, Vilsack and the Russian Pres signed a new deal the end of last week opening the market back up. We will be shipping about $1Millon dollars worth of primarily dark meat quarters PER DAY starting in the next week or so. We are also expecting the ban on US Poultry products by the EEC to be lifted sometime in the next month or so. Our trade negotiators have taken this to the highest levels of the world trade organizatio

Paulding: The race is on for DA, State Senate and GA House
surepip replied to gpatt0n's topic in Paulding County NEWS
Ah, but at the same time you can't take away 2 mils and expect improvement either. At least Sonny has established an outside committee to study the numerous tax credits given to hundreds of companies around the state to see what can be taken back or stopped. That might help. I don't like the vouchers. Too easy to get onto that slippery slope of using STate funding to send kids to religous oritented schools. The Parochial schools never got any state funding while I was in them last century, and the state does not need to start funding any now. The other issue with the money we throw at -
My point is with the early voting many will cast their vote with no idea of what, if any, of the BIG MONEY is riding on which candidates. And of the candidates I know, 95% of their dontations are by check. With any type of decent bookkeeping it should not take 30 minutes to total them up and list them out, along with the expenditures......unless you want to wait until the last possible moment to keep them under wraps as long as possible.
