HOUSE EXTENDS TAX BREAKS FOR DELTA AND OTHER AIRLINE RELATED INDUSTRIES
WHITEY replied to WHITEY's topic in RECENT TOPICS
never made any sense to me, Where would they go that has a major Hub like Atlanta. They already had the lowest fuel tax rate before the exemption, If I understand the bill it also exempts other air lines also, plus taxes on the parts to repair the planes. And this same legislature has a billl that would raise our gas tax .10 cents WTH are the idiots thinking, Hell we are in a recession and the price of groceries are already exploding with the current price of fuel. This corporate welfare is a slap in the face of hard working Americans every where -
HOUSE EXTENDS TAX BREAKS FOR DELTA AND OTHER AIRLINE RELATED INDUSTRIES
WHITEY replied to WHITEY's topic in RECENT TOPICS
Why am I not suprised? But wait even more tax breaks for the Airline industry. To amend Code Section 48-8-3 of the Official Code of Georgia Annotated, relating to exemptions from sales and use tax, so as to extend for a limited period of time the exemption regarding the sale or use of engines, parts, equipment, or other tangible personal property used in the maintenance or repair of certain aircraft; to repeal conflicting laws; and for other purposes. I really do not understand how anyone can vote for Corporate Tax Breaks, That would take $26 million dollars from a County that has a budge -

Not sure right now have not been able to find the roll call? -
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution Delta Air Lines will continue to get a break on the sales tax it pays for jet fuel under legislation approved Wednesday by the Georgia House. House Bill 322 calls for the state to give the airline a $20 million exemption for the fiscal year that begins July 1 and $10 million the year after that. It would expire in 2013. The House passed the break 113-61 after a heated debate that went on for nearly an hour. Among key opponents were Democrats from Clayton County, which receives $62 million a year from Delta in sales taxes and stands to lose $26 million

Anyone care to predict the SPLOST vote in Cobb?
WHITEY replied to Coppertop's Pop's topic in RECENT TOPICS
With $200,000 plus campaign donations for the tax and $500.00 donated opposing the tax ,My guess it will pass. Being a Republican controlled County, They tend to support self imposed taxes -

Is our confrontational management style part of the problem?
WHITEY replied to gpatt0n's topic in RECENT TOPICS
Pubby You stated That is not now nor has it ever been the case as far as assembly line . The Classifications of the jobs depended on the hourly rate of that particular job For instance A dingman was the highest rated assembly line worker Because he was required to remove dents without breaking the paint,he could and did perform work in the metal finish, unpainted bodies also in fact he could do any work in the assembly process. Classifications were used to move up to higher rated jobs,And for Shift preference purposes not to featherbed. It is significant to note that the Japs got ar -
Is our confrontational management style part of the problem?
WHITEY replied to gpatt0n's topic in RECENT TOPICS
Pubby Having been a worker in a GM plant for 36 years, I find the link that you provided very informative, and pretty much on target as to what an assembly line worker endured for many years in an Automobile factory. I do agree with most of what the author wrote in that article But there is more to it than what he has covered. Most people including some who posted here were not aware that the Japanese Auto workers belonged to a Union, To my knowledge all of the auto workers in Japan were and still are represented by a Union, And as spelled out in the article were treated the same as their -
According to this article in today's AJC it appears that all State workers and teachers will be hit with another 20% increase in Health Care Premiums. http://www.ajc.com/news/georgia-politics-elections/state-workers-teachers-to-866540.html

You may want to discuss this matter with Mr. Watson at the tax office office he is a very helpful public servant, There are several exemptions available for senior citizens on property taxes, and citizens who own over 10 acres of land. Not sure about the rest but I am aware that a few years back if a person is on medicaid (state) and is in a nursing home, that the property can be sold to pay for some of cost of providing that care if the property is in her name at the time of death.

I just finished e-mailing all of the representatives asking for them to oppose and speak out on the floor of the House and the Senate, And to vote against HB 385. They may choose not to answer my e-mail, Or oppose the measure on the House or Senate floor, If so,I will consider silence as consent. BRADDOCK, MAXWELL, HEATH, HAMRICK Are you listening and reading?
