  1. Then why are they trying to sell the commercial passenger service on the projection of one million passengers a year?
  2. Was the one cent Transportation SPLOST held during the General election.... Whatever it failed miserably and folks have more opportunities to vote now than ever before.
  3. Hey nice green I have a novel idea on how to resolve the entire issue, lets treat it just like the first constitutional amendment that created the Industrial Building Authority. Once the proposed language changes are agreed upon place the items on the ballot in the November 2014 General election to be ratified by the eligible voters in Paulding County. Nothing wrong with letting the voters have the final say, if it passes then ask the General Assembly to enact it into law..... If it fails then eliminate the Industrial Building Authority and the Paulding County Airport authority, an
  4. Well you need to tell the airport authority that because that is their projections, OH.. the chamber also projects 2,000 to 3,000 jobs and $350,000,000 in economic development of course they also projected about the same figures for the general aviation airport.. I believe Pubby figured about 27 flights each day would generate a 1,000,000 passengers per year, so are you saying the airport want handle 27 flights per day?
  5. Citizens steering committee is for the purpose of proposing legislation, so the IBA and the Paulding County Airport Authority to pretty much do anything and everything with our tax dollars that they desire..... Case in point is the million dollar loan that the IBA loaned to the airport authority that presently is being contested in the superior court of Paulding County, and is being delayed until such time that the constitutional amendment can be changed. This committee was hatched at a BOC meeting after the failed attempt by David Austin to secretly change the Constitutional Amendment tha
  6. Well the word that was floated around at the chamber of commerce was they would eventually get 1,000,000 passengers, projected capitol outlay for the airport over the next five years is about $40,000,000 that is a lot of passengers to take away from Hartsfield Jackson. Did you think the city of Atlanta was not going to try and keep a million of their current PASSENGERS ???...... That is a lot od $$$$$$$$$$$$... what would you do? let a County with a yearly budget of $50,000,000 take those passengers without a fight? Really The city can break our little county just with legal fees..... How m
  7. Hey time to deal in the facts....... Paulding County Georgia owns that airport, and the city of Atlanta does not have any means to come in and take the airport away from the County Commission or the citizens of Paulding County. Our personal property is being held in escrow(for lack of a better word) until we pay off all the outstanding debt owed on the Airport. It cannot be taken nor can it be sold... It is ours we need to try and make this the best General Aviation Airport in the United States. In order to do this we need a few more changes on the County Commission either through a r
  8. Both of the laws governing these two authorities worked just fine until this commission attempted to force the Commercial airport down the throats of the citizens. Both of these two authorities should be eliminated and the duties and responsibilities of these two authorities should be returned to the commissioners who are elected to allocate/spend tax dollars. No appointed authorities should have the power to spend tax dollars without representation from the citizens, A majority of those serving on these authorities are appointed and all on the IBA also serve on the airport authority.. I su
  9. What's new they secretly tried to pass local legislation to give the IBA unlimited rights to spend our Tax dollars without any citizen input. I am going just to see what is going on
  10. It will be interesting to see how the commissioners will spin this at the public hearings that should be scheduled shortly. If David Austin does not reduce the millage rate the same as the increase in the tax digest then he must advertise a tax increase in the Dallas New Era. Got to watch this closely this year and make sure there is no Hanky Panky going on with the required meeting and the notifications thereof.
  11. Nope.... You are entitled to your opinion, of course I do not agree with your opinion... but whatever. at least the anti airport group has stuck with the issues in this campaign and been above board with no secret meetings, I try and respond to folks in the same manner that they address me... sorry if that irked you?
  12. The voters saw through the façade, the veteran won by a landslide. The truth prevailed!!!
  13. Jane Ty I have had professionals try and ruffle my feathers, a novice like you would of never been able to irk me....... your post were a dead give away, no need to LOOK YOU UP.
  14. Yea since you live in the City limits you are going to have to pay for the new sewer line Boyd Austin ran to the Airport. Oh don't forget the taxi way widening Boyd also voted for, time to pay those bills
  15. Here is the resolution that was passed by the Commissioners.. You will have to ask to see attachment C this was passed in March of this year Resolution 14-08 A Resolution in full support of training operations of The Georgia National Guard at the Paulding Northwest Atlanta Airport: David Barnett made a motion to adopt Resolution 14-08 A Resolution in full support of training operations of The Georgia National Guard at the Paulding Northwest Atlanta Airport, seconded by Dave Carmichael; Commissioner Pownall asked that a letter be generated to the National Guard that addresses location of
  16. are you okay??? No one is suppose to address the commissioners unless they are citizens, You already got all the problems solved in Daytona??? Heck come on up and move in and register to vote and then you can really be buds with Beach Bum
  17. They use the field now for training, The commission just blew it all out of proportion for political purposes, Fact is the resolution that was passed had the National Guard do the training on the property adjoining the airport that the City of Atlanta owns now since the issue was raised.... It seems that the airport authority was not doing their job ... again on this issue
  18. All of you have the same right as Martina did express your rights all you want to behind the AVATAR. But no you do not have the right to address the commission..... That is reserved for citizens..... Sorry... Oh .......And you don't have a vote either.
  19. Looking forward to seeing you at the next commissioners meeting ?
  20. Is this what you are looking for? http://www.savepauldingco.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2014/05/5.20.14-ltr-to-L.-Favors-without-attachments.pdf
  21. The growth of the Airport is what was totally responsible... Whether you want to buy into facts or not the simple truth is the Airport does not provide many real top paying jobs, Walk down any concourse and take a look at the Minimum wage jobs, Stand outside and watch all the Buses coming on from the various parking lots surrounding the airport, look at all the business around the airport all minimum wage jobs.... Sure they are some good paying jobs but..... Those are highly skilled jobs and require a lot of experience and skills to obtain... Fact is most of those employees live nowhere near t
  22. Martina....... First I want to thank you for your service to this country you are to be commended for this. Your introduction to your speech the day after memorial day was appropriate in my opinion. Do know that some of your distractors in this thread live hundreds of miles away from Paulding County and have no idea what transpired in the post # 4 race for the County Commission race...... and neither were able to cast a vote for either candidate. It appears to me the citizens that live in that commission post got it right and saw right through the political BS that was being spewe
  23. Yes,.... I lived there I know, I left there and moved to Paulding County for the peace and quite, the safe neighborhood along with the low crime rate.... I commuted 40 miles one way and was completely satisfied, Just like most Paulding County residents do today. The more the airport grew the worse the living conditions.
